Thread: Seekers and Probe Droids Publish 21
Drashk wrote:Seekers are now 20 charges each and Probe Droids are 10 charges each. Existing crates of both appear to have been retroactively adjusted with the new numbers, when pulled from a crate.Singles on the other hand..... (Bug thread entry below)Single Seekers and Probe Droids did not convert to the new charges. Droids pulled from a crate convert to the new number of charges, without a problem.I had a few crates of Probe Droids and Seekers on my vendor, on Test Center Prime, along with a number of single droids. I pulled the a crate of the vendor and a single, for each droid type. The Single Probe Droid has 5 charges and the single Seeker has 10 charges. I pulled a Seeker out of a crate and the Seeker has 20 charges. I pulled a Probe Droid and it has 10 chrages. Both of these results appear to be correct. This isn't a 'huge' issue, since most sell the Probe Droids and Seekers by the crate.Factory is currently cooking 100 of each, so I will post an update when a full crate is formed.
Drashk, you test center stud-monkey, you.

And the answer is.....
42.
No wait. Wrong question. ![]()
25 per crate appears to be the new crate size for both Seekers and Probe droids.
Some info on the new BH missions.....
30k payout. Looted item such as a Polearm Speed 3 / General Ranged Accuracy 7 / Unarmed Defense 4 Clothing attachment off of a CL82 Mark. Plus 1k credits looted off of the body.
If the CA that Kwong found is any example, loot hunters will be heading over to BH to grab the uber loot marks.

and more of a reason for people to hunt marks.
If the loot drop rate for the master level missions stays somewhere near where it is on TC there will be a marked increase in NPC bounty hunting. Last night I was using on average 3 seeker charges per mission. This should result in increased demand and sales for DE's.
I don't really see why the number of droids per crate and number of charges per droid were increased. The number of arakyds was always lowere than I liked, but it was tolerable. Don't these things take a lot of factory time? Maybe the increase was to keep the DE's who make them from devoting too much factory time to making them?

Honestly? I think it was done to prevent the BHs from having something else to scream NERF! about. So many of them have been abusing this bug for so long that they would see it being fixed as a nerf.
I've always based my seeker and arakyd prices on the cost the BHs used to pay from the NPC vendors. 200cr per seeker charge and 1000cr per probe. Guess I'll be getting a nice pay raise....![]()

The only problem with this is that even though charges basically doubled giving us more bang for each seeker, resource requirments stayed the same. So while the "smart" DE's will charge more and make more profit, some DE's will keep the same prices, figuring their profit margin didn't change.
The same was also said when BH droids were given to the DE profession as a sole source of droids for the Bounty Hunters. Look how far the price has come in the time since those days. Product supply and demand will play a major part in the prices of both Seekers and Probe Droids again, like it always has.

If you figure that the average Bounty Hunter should have been expending 3 Seeker charges per use, during the infinite seeker days, simple number crunching would suggest that Seeker sales should at least double, now that the droid expends a charge, at least in the first few weeks of introduction.
With Marks dropping such nice loot, in an instanced environment, many of the uber loot hunters will be picking up a little BH in their template, soley to hunt for ths loot. If that it the actual case, then Seeker sales may actually increase a lot more then just double.

I think its a case of both NERF cries and trying to make it so that a DE isn't completely devoted to BH droid production.
The one issue that I do see with this on Live comes from the DEs that are uninformed. They will more then likely still be charging the same price, not because they want to be priced lower then anyone else, but because they aren't aware of the chrage change. Not everyone reads the forums or even the patch notes, not that the patch notes list the actual number of charges.
If I was someone on Live, I would be contacting as many DEs that I knew on the servers as I could, just to make sure that they were aware of the change. The next issue would be to inform the Bounty Hunters of the increase, so that they are aware of the change and understand why your prices have increased. Once word is spread about the loot drops off of a mark, the only thing that BHs will be concerned about is who alwayshas a vendorstocked up. Those that don;t price according to demand won't have the stock to keep the business, not with the factroy time required to produce crates for seekers and probe droids.
