Thread: If Star Wars was SWG...

Luke wouldn't need two droids, one mouse droid would have been enough.

That scene on Hoth with the bots? Not a problem, they wouldn't have been able to cross server boundaries and thus couldn't possibly discover anything.

The final battle on Naboo, Ep 1? Didn't happen, no droidekas, no battledroids.

Remember Luke vs Rancor? Not so good for Luke.

You get the idea.... (Feel free to contribute your own).

One thing that SWG does get right. If you consider Ewoks as pets, then ROTJ fits pretty well into SWG. "Wicket attack" "Wicket play"

George Lucas would turn over in his grave! OH that's right, George isn't dead. I wonder what he would think about the state that his vision has been interpreted and excused away into.

He's not dead; he's just rolling around in hobillions upon hobillions of dollars that he makes in royalties and the like off of everything that ever had both of the words 'star' and 'wars' in it. I would venture to say his vision comes second to his hobillions of dollars. And, to that end, i'm sure he gets some pennies out of every dollar we pay SOE to play the game.

This is not Star Wars Galaxies. This is Beast Master in Space.

So true Lathos... So very true.

...Luke wouldn't have even owned a droid, he'd have a chuba and a veermok in place of R2-D2 and C-3P0.

...Luke would have been disappointed about not being able to apply for Leonard Part 6 fantasy camp again this year.

..... R2-D2 would have been a Rock Beetle, and C3PO would have been a Dalydrake Harvestor ...

Han would have had a Rancor in his pocket and would have wiped out the Storm troopers on the Deathstar single handedly to rescue the Princess....

The opening scene aboard Leia's ship would have involved the door being blown in, and a horde of rock beetles rushing into the corridor to be met by Gurrecks....

Then the stormtroopers would have come in in groups of three, each tripletwith a guy in non-trooper armor next to them....

Meanwhile, there would be two new human char's added to the move: Ralph and Chuck. Through the flick, Ralph would walk in front of R2D2 saying 'follow' every 15 seconds and sticking a battery in him every 30, while Chuck did the same with 3po.

Other lines from the modified move:

"It was your father's rock beetle - he wanted you to have it, when you were old enough, but your uncle, the Droid Engineer, wouldn't allow it."

"These aren't the pets you're looking for"

"I had to sell my dewback to get the money for the trip.... " (instead of selling the landspeeder)

"I want to go with you to Alderaan and learn to the ways of the Pets."

"Reach out with your /tame, Luke."

"Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match fora Rancor at your side."

"50k? For a mount? I could buy a starship for that much!" / "But who's gonna tame it, you?" / "I'm not such a bad CH!"

TK-421 wouldnt have been able to board the Millennium Falcon to help the scanning crew if it had crossed a server boundary

Luke would have had to havespent all his moneyon a Holocron to find out he had to go to Alderaan.....

.....which is ok because he could only have taken the shuttle there anyway (much cheaper than Han was charging)

Young Anakin would be the only human who could take part in low speed mount racing ("you must have Jedi reflexes")

Obi Wan would have handed Luke a set of Holocrons and simply said "Go figure it out yourself."

Jabba feeding the sarlac would have ended embarrasingly when he realized any schmuck could walk up to it and take some of it's slime and walk away, unscathed.

Instead of Boba Fett's Jetpack, he would be seen in the movies riding a Kaadu, because that was the fastest transportation available out of all that technology of the era.

Han and Chewie wouldn't have actually said anything. If Luke ever asked them anything, they would simply stand there. (I was so disappointed when I found them in the game).

If Luke or Obi pulled out their saber in public, no one would have given them a second glance; But the second one of them used an invisible force push or the like, anyone in the known galaxy is suddenly allerted to their presence and could attack at will.

The normal wait time for a shuttle would have made the movie series last much longer, giving good old Georgie more to go off of, but everyone would have been bored to death. Many would walk out claiming "I'm just getting something to eat while I wait for the next scene." But, when they get back, they find that they missed the 30 second window of action, and they're watching Luke wait for the next shuttle to hop.

The training droid used to hone Luke's senses wouldn't have actually existed. Instead, George would have opted for a 3-movie side plot where Luke just goes around practicing on lesser womp rats and worrts the whole time. Of course, that means Georgie's team would have been hard pressed to come up with the design for the worrts, so that set of movies wouldn't have come out for another 15 years after the original series.

I could go on, and on...but my memory of the movies is lacking at the moment.

Luke would have gotten bored waiting for the shuttle and asked Obi-Wan or Han to duel him. No DB's please.

...the following quotes would have been:

VADER:Droids do not concern me, Admiral. I want thatmount and not excuses

BEN: There's nothing you could have done, Luke, had you been there. You'd have been killed, too, and the droids would be in the scrap heap

HAN: Okay. You guys got yourself a ship. We'll leave as soon as the space expansion has been released. Docking bay Ninety-four

HAN: I think my lag is getting better. Instead of a big dark blur, I see a big light blur

LUKE: Mostly because I'm a Droid Engineer, I guess

NUTE: My Lord, it's impossible to locate the ship. Space Expansion is not out yet!

LUKE: Never! I'll never turn to the dark side. You've failed, Your Highness. I am a CH, like my father before me.

BEN: Even Yoda is a Creature Handler

VADER: Your skills are complete. Indeed, you are a Commando, as the Emperor has foreseen

YODA: I cannot teach him. The boy has no novice skills

TARKIN: Charming to the last. You don't know how hard I found itgrinding to Master Rifleman to terminate your life!

LEIA: Luke, don't talk that way. You have a power droidI--I don't understand and could never get to work

JABBA: I will not give up my favorite decoration. It took me ages gettingCaptain Solo where he is, using the stairs to move him up the wall an all

QUI-GON: The situation here is not what it seems. There is something else behind all this, Your Highness. There is no logic in the Developers move here. My feelings tell me they will destroy you

EMPEROR: Your feeble rifleskills are no match for the power of a commando. You have paid the price for your lack of vision.

OBI-WAN: Sorry, Master, the death decay fried my weapon

LUKE: Greetings, Exalted One. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Luke Skywalker, Master Creature Handler and friend to Captain Solo. I know that you are powerful, mighty Jabba, and that your anger with Solo must be equally powerful. I seek achat room with Your Greatness to bargain for Solo's life. With your wisdom, I'm sure that we can work out an arrangement which will be mutually beneficial and enable us to avoid any unpleasant trade bugs. As a token of my goodwill, I present to you a gift: these two uesless droids.

OZZEL: We have thousands of probe droids searching the galaxy. Why didn't send out rancor's?

THREEPIO: That sounds like a Gurrekunit in there. I wonder if...

QUI-GON: There is a possibility with thislag many Gungans will be killed

LUKE: We're not going to regroup with the others because group chat is broken

LUKE: Yes, sir. I think those new droids are bugged beyound belief. In fact, I, uh, was also thinking about our agreement about my staying on another season. And if these new droids worked, I was goingto transmit my application to the Academy this year but since they are useless...

LUKE: Stay here and watch after the camp, Artoo. Its about all you are good for

QUI-GON: ...my only conclusion can be that it was a Commando

MEDICAL DROID: *Low Power*

THREEPIO: Use the comlink? I can't, it's broken!

LUKE: ...so I cut off my power, shut down the afterburners and came in low on Deak's trail. I was so close I thought I was going to fry my instruments. As it was I busted up the Skyhopper pretty bad. Uncle Owen was pretty upset. He grounded me for the rest of the season. You should have been there... it was fantastic. Then I woke up and realised that the Space Expansion isn't out yet!

RIEEKAN: Arifle isnot an easy thing tofight with. You're a good fighter, Solo. I hate to lose you

LEIA: The code's changed. We need Artoo! Wait, what I am saying? We needa rancor!

THREEPIO: I'm afraid that Artoo's sensors don't work and therefore can find no trace of Princess Leia
