Thread: Vehicle Customization Tool

Well guys, time to move to another thing...

You surely have realized WE are going to be the main providers of those kits, right? The schematic is exactly the same as the droid customization kit, that is: some metal, a control unit and a droid storage compartment.

So, the question is: any ideas about how much should be charge for it?

Not much, since there are already many DE's who make storage compartments by the crates for architects and lots others will continue to do the same for this.

I would say 100-250 per charge.

Well... I paint droids for free, but that's in part to attract business. The fact that only Droid Engineers can use the Droid Customization Tool means it's tough to sell them (or their use) as well.

For me it will depend on what it takes to make 'em. I'll probably start at something like 10 CPU if that works out to be a decent price and see what happens. Might start as high as 20 CPU if they require very few resources. I don't see much point in selling anything for less than 1000 credits because it's simply too much effort to create the item and post it for sale for that little return.

I plan to do it for tips. Every time I think of setting for a price for a service, I come up with a number but then I test the servicefor free. When people ask how much, I say "tip whatever you think is fair." Almost always I get tipped 10 times what I was planning to charge. For the few people who take the service for granted, the ones who pay for it more than make up.

It has other advantages as well, such as leaving a good impression with customers who come back for repeat business.

If I get overwhelmed or run into a bunch of cheapskates, I will start charging for the service.

(In contrast to my free service policy, I do *not* undercharge for vehicles like most dealers.)

So, let me get this straight: To advance my character, I have to give up my current abilities?

seriously,

forget about the customiye thingy as it is atm.

the vehicles get same crap system like droids do. only newbies wish it to get colored.

everybody who notices that the color is gone after 20 calls, wont ever ask again for coloring, cause it simply makes no sense.

if we culd color perma or at least for 2000 call with a slightly fading in between then it might make sense and people woiuld like it.

but how it is atm, be serious pls, noone comes to get a droid recolored for 20 calls.

they really should make the color perma till you use the color tool again. how does that hurt players?

not at all, but it imporves the fun when people can choose their color and like their droid / vehicle

if they want a change they come back and get a repaint, simple as that.

how often u let your car get panted in real life? every 20 McDonalds drives? guess not

Ten thousand credits?!? We could almost buy our own ship for that!

I was as shocked as all of you are, however; I was tight on funds at the time so I didn't say anything. I normaly asked for 500 credits a droid.
