Thread: OK our correspondant supports DH. NOW all hope IS lost
I've stated that I am in support of the Droid Handler (I prefer Commander myself. Droid Handler and Droid Master just don't have any flair profession because it will allow for the most flexiblity as a crafter. Many of the arguments against the DC profession are very short sighted and are loaded with misconceptions about what the profession could be. Some of the misconceptions include
That DCs will be the only profession to control all droids. Anyone will be able use any non-combat droid and combat droids Level 10 and under. DCs will have control over Droids Level 10 and above
That DCs will be the only profession that can 'Tame' Droid deeds and program them. Again, anyone will be able to use any non-combat droid and combat droids Level 10 and under.
That DCs will 'Tame Wild Droids'. DC will be based off of purchasing droids from a DE and may include faction Droids as well.
These are the three points that I am making sure that the DEVs are aware of, if/when the Droid Commander is pushed forward in the development phase.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but this isn't the first time that I have stated that I am in favor of the Droid Handler idea. I posted two rather verbose threads that were sticked to the top of the forum to open up discussion. You can find them Here and Here
I also posted this thread in hopes that people would read it and not automatically assume what you are assuming now.
And there is always the snafu that Lithium had a week or two back that allowed GnomeAd to post this info
Next time you decide to jump off the pier, might I suggest that you look in the water first.
BTW, the only HTML that I can use is the ability to make links and this is an ability that anyone can do.

Fact remains that you and TH agree..and thats enough to sink a lot of ships that are on the other side.
I just cannot see why you are doing this against all the opposite opinion, but then I suppose I should have guessed when I didn't see you rise up on our behalf..I do remember wondering why.

I am not for a DH profession myself. And every DE and non DE out there have their own take on the proposed DH profession.
Like everyone else he have the right to weigh the pro's and con's of a DH and work out what he think will fit his role as a DE best. But I also belive that even if Drashk is for a DH profession he is listening to the majoroty of DE's.
I wont lie and say I have read every post on the DE forums, nor have I read every post done by our current correspondant, but overall I do feel he is doing a great job, just like Sintrosi did before him.
He was selected our correspondant way before any words on a DH was mentioned on these boards. He was selected for one reason among many. He is a DE with a strong feeling towards DE in general.
Drashk gets my vote and I trust he will do what he can for the majority of the DE community, even if TH is having his own agenda (So it seems to me anyway)

Ditto. There's been little to no evidence that Drashk has been pushing his own agenda. Of course, we only have the one example from the correspondents forum to go by, but for the time being, I see no real reason to freak out over it.

What do you think? That the individual selected to be our correspondant will have views that match yours line item by line item? Perhaps we should restrict the list of (eventual) potential replacements to those vetted by your checklist? Ohh, I know! We can wipe his memory and reprogram him to a set of opinions decided upon by..... you? Whatever happens, he must not be allowed to be a human being who has formed his own ideas.
Drashk's job is to put forth our views, and I have every belief he does so. He is perfectly within his rights to personally wish for a particular outcome, and I think it's FAR better, more ethical and smarter that we KNOW his personal views. I should hope that he counts his OWN opinions precisely has strongly as anyone else's. He's shown himself to posess a deep understanding of the profession, and to care about it.
Take the whining outside, please. We've got enough real problems without this.

You're an idiot too. Boo f'ing hoo...the correspondent as a DE supports a dev idea I don'tlike!! Boo hoo. Just because he agrees doesn't mean that he doesn't present the views of the DE majority to the devs. In fact TH has already said he looks at what the correspondents send him and compares it to what he reads on the profession forum.
But then again, I'm sure you think TH is personally out to get you too...and the FBI, the IRS, and the little green men!
