Boy.... as a community we're all really cracking under the pressure aren't we?
Drashk is an individual... he has individual opinions... he represents us to the best of his ability while ALSO taking his own opinions into consideration AND the information from the private forums that we're not privy to.
I have confidence in him, it's probably not as easy a job as one might think... oh, and a reminder, he's volunteering for it.

I believe in you. I am concerned, however, that the viewpoint expressed here is sort of valid.
You've lobbyed for the community with the Devs that we overwhelmingly (via the results of my unofficial poll) did not want a DH/DM profession.
I know that you support this personally, however, and have said so in the past.
Your role, since you mentioned it before, is to take up the viewpoint of the profession as a whole.
With that being said, why are you trying to convince many of us (the 90+% that voted "No" on my poll) that a DH class is a good idea?
Should you not be standing firm with the player community that you are charged with representing?
I know that the Devs know (hopefully) know our feelings on this but it's pretty clear to me that the have a past habit of selective hearing.
The fact that you've taken up the charge to convince us that DH is the right answer (despite what the community yells and screams about it) is very telling to me personally. What is seems to indicate is that this WILL happen, irregardless of whatever other good idea/system/etc. that's put forth by a player.

This is exactly why I've cancelled my account. I refuse to fight anymore when so many great ideas fall to the selective ears of the Devs. It's just not worth the time or money to even try anymore.

I have seen nothing so far that would make me think that Drashk has anything but the best interests of Droid Engineers in mind. Despite his own support for Droid Handlers, he did mention to Thunderheart that a Droid Handler profession would not be very popular with Droid Engineers. I can respect that.

More than told TH. He flat-out stated that 85% of the profession would be up in arms. He underestimated just a little.

Respectfully,
Once again TK, you've managed to cut through the BS and strike right at the heart of the matter. The role of the player correspondent is to represent the interests of the players to the devs. What we've been seeing from Drashk over the last few days is lots of diversions in the form of asking about what else we want and previewing the coming publish 7 combat modules. Even though we are still united in the fight against DH, it seems that Drashk has given up. What I would expect him to be doing at this point is representing us the way he should and arguing withthe whole dev teamday and night if that's what it takes. While this may in fact be what's going on behind the scenes, I have seen no evidence of this and in fact I think that Drashk has given up and is rolling over.
Drashk, I emplore you once more, put your personal feelings aside and do what the community wants. We do not want DH/DM/DC! This is the future of the DE profession that we have placed in your hands. Stop pissing down our backs and telling us it's raining. We know better.

our correspondent is working for all not only a part of the DEs who are in the forums. he is a class correspondent meaning he deals with things concerning the class not a represetative. he gathers info and general polls and stuff to hand it to the devs.
there are two choices, DH or nothing and i think DH is better. and i dont think our correspondent or the devs will ignor if a better idea shows up that is implementable. btw certs and DE improvments have been ranted down in this board so the devs dropped this ideas. and no new working ones are showing up. additional utility droids are wanted and DH will bring in combat droids fast so the devs can than work on utility droids which are alot more difficult.

But, the options aren't DH or nothing. I'm reasonably sure that the devs first intent was to give the combat droids to DEs. After Drashk ran that idea off, they came back with DH as the second choice. In his defence, it wasn't presented to him in that format, but right now, he should be asking them if that option is still on the table and taking our pulse to see if it's acceptable to us. The problem I'm having with Drashk now, is that he personaly doesn't want that option so he's not even talking about it. He is so afraid of attracting the l33t d00dz that he won't even entertain the option.

he does support DH because it is the best sollution now.
he will support every better idea i think but he doesnt support combat droids for DEs because this option isnt in the discussion anymore as alot bigger rants than does on DH have caused devs to take this out as an option. drashk is just the link between devs and the community.
i personally hope the devs stop listening to the community via this forum, or this game will go nowhere. only thing that might work with this community is a ingamepoll.

Umm, I believe starting is a prerequisite to stopping. The devs have *never* truly paid attention to this community, as witnessed by the way Gorantoth's bug list has been very close to static, with vanishingly few items removed since the very earliest days.

Drashk has my vote of support and my appreciation for his hard work. I also support his right to express his personal views as he has been -- in a manner that lets us know that he is speaking for himself.
HOWEVER, I think Drashk shouldbe working AGAINST the DH profession as the DE correspondent in light of the fact that most DEs are united against it. By working against I mean constantly reiterating our opposition, conveying our alternativesand also explaining that a minority favor DH.

Nobody with any real say in how droids are handled has my faith.
Why? Because the only feedback we get shows that the powers that be either don't understand what people are asking for, or simply don't care. The droid handler/master/whatever decision is the most obvious example of it. It seems to me that the DE community has been very clear about how they think droids should be handled, and ultimately the devs are doing what they felt like doing in the first place. That's their option to choose, certainly, but what other conclusion can we draw except that we are basically being lied to? Am I cynical to believe that TH and Drashk are not here to listen, but to convince us that the inevitable is really the best thing anyway?
It's obvious that the developers already know how they want the droid invasion to go. It's obvious that Drashk is not only unable to relate our concerns in a way that the developers will take seriously, but not especially motivated in this particular case to do so. As much as that will sound like a slam against Drashk, I'm not really sure that any amount of motivation on the part of our correspondant would make a bit of difference.
We're being fed the game design equivelent of crap and not only being told to like it, but having those in charge pretend that it's the only viable option. It's arrogant and unnecessary. Yes, the developers are ultimately responsible for the game, and have the final say, no matter what we think. It's not that they (or Drashk) don't agree with the majority that's offensive-- it's the pretense that the players are actually involved on any level. We're clearly not, so why waste all this energy on an illusion? If the new system sucks, the players are not going to be confused about who wanted it. If they ultimately support it, it will be because it turns out well (magic eight ball says: not likely), not because someone pulled the old Jedi mind trick-- "these *are* the droids that you were looking for..." I guess we must seem to be weak minded fools.

what the devs are doing wrong is they dont listen to ideas which are around the forums, they just listen to rants which are massivly presented (no matter the number of posters). just like when the game was released and they nerfed everything instead of improving the other things...
