Thread: Any other publish 7 holdouts finally dropping DE?

Well I have been a DE for about 3 months now, The only thing worth crafting these days have been Adv R3's (Max storage/medical/armor, all crafting stations) I was able to sell these for 64k and sold a few each day. After doing a few factory runs and fully stocking my vendors with these there was nothing left to do. I decided to hold onto DE until this patch came out to see if It would get any better.... itdidnt....
I am a well known DE on Tempest and am always helping out up and coming DE's, others DEs always beg me not to drop it because the profession needs me (on tempest) but I have totally lost interest. Things need to improve BIG TIME!! All I can say to the rest of you is that I feel your pain but I can not take it anymore myself. I really really hope things get better for you soon!!

64k for those?!?!? Geeeezus, I sell 'em for 20k and I feel like I'm doing well.

We have a good economy on Tempest and also there are not many DEs on Tempest so not much competition. I used to sell them for 35k but they were selling out faster than I could keep them stocked so i bumped up the price to 64k and they still sell very well. Could probably even bump it up even higher but then that would be just getting greedy 
There was a guy on my server selling them for 110k for awile and was selling quite a few, he recently dropped his price to about 80k, seems like hes making a lot of sales even with those prices.

I've been a MDE since early january, solely for the rumoured droid patch, giving us droids with combat capabillities..
Sales-wise, the only thing worth selling today are R2-R3's, with this and that craftstation and medical modules.. But you can only sell _that_ much before people have their droids, and need no new ones since the droids are indestructible..
With pub7 coming, I was hoping for something with an appeal to new customers.. This, I fear, will not be any new business.. Only few curious ones who can spend the measly 16-20k on a probot with all combat modules (+ the ridiculous armor part(Why in the name of the Galaxy did they remove the armor rating???)), thus having a hunk of steel lobbing bolts with damage ranging from 130-160 or whatnot.. Talk about shooting oneself in the foot.
I will be dropping DE as soon as I make enough craftdroids / medical droids to help out my guildies.. Which will be by tomorrow morning..
What a waste of good grinding resources, this DE profession was.

I've been having the same feelings..and almost ready to drop DE myself.
I'm going to wait until they push Patch 8, and if DE is still as frustrating then as it is now..I'll be changing also.
I figure I will at least stick it out while we have their attention, but if they move on to the next thing leaving us this messed up..I will be done with it (maybe even the game as a whole since the ONLY reason I bought it was to play around with droids).

Well I thought I'd give it a go tonight but it was worse than I imagined. The droids are far inferior to a decent BE Lvl 10 pet and the constant messages asking for Droidekas etc etc. I've made a couple of R3s for my Guildmates but thats it. Then when I tried to a General Module Cluster into an R2 only to be told it now needs to be Combat Enabled Cluster - Why can't it accept both - not every R2 needs to be combat enabled.
So after 3 months I am afraid when I have used up my present stock of components DE can go whistle. There are already few enough of us I don't see this encouraging players to do the frankly already ridiculously long DE grind.

Thinking about it. Gotta sell all my inventory first though. maybe that'll take 'till publish 8 so I can see what else is in store.

I'm dropping due to no new Droids and droids made from 990+ resources in all parts only give a marginally better droid than before. They wasted their time on this droid publish.

Yup, same here ... I'll sell what I can now but 8 will be the breaking point. Especially since I don't see us getting any more than those 4 announced modules.
