I'm sure there must be a thread detailing it, but I just can't find it. I'm a new droid engineer, and I'm wondering which experimentation lines affect which attributes on a finished droid (in other crafting classes, hovering the mouse over the experimentation bar will tell you what is affected by it). Also am wondering if experimented components affect the final build, and whether or not the quality of composite armor segments is important in crafting armor modules. Thanks in advance for your help.

Effectiveness. Stick all points into there. Nothing else works.

Quality of L6 defence modules are all the same, full 40% (unless something has changed) so experimenting unfortunately is useless, as is the quality of the composite you use.
Anyone know if resources and experimentation help out in making combat modules better?

I just made my first R3 combat droid. I put two Droid Armor Module 6's in him, and he came out with 20% resists. What gives?

Welcome to our nightmare, Ackdel.
This is the Devs' view of DEs "in balance".

The balance has only just begun...

I put together my first post-patch probot last night.
I had to since my old probots are now worthless.
2 level 6 armor mod's went in. Each with around 83% experimentation.
40% armor came out.
Woo.

ok, something weird happened. After initially checking his resists, and seeing 20%, I tried him out killing a few chubas, no problems. So I stored him, logged off, went and had dinner, went shopping, etc. I came back, logged on, pulled out my new pal, and now his resists are up at 40%. So...I repeat. "Huh?"

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure I saw a post by you saying the 40% resists is actually a bug, and the correct levels will be 20% once the bug is fixed?
I would love you to tell me I'm wrong though, really I would
Whats the actual facts, before I have a further seizure. Is two Lvl6 armours supposed to result in 40% or 20% ??

You're right. 40% is a bug and 20% is the intended resistances.

Correct. The maximum allowed resists (using single Level 6 or multiple lower-level armor modules) will be 20%.
The bug, as it stands now, is that the correct number (whatever it is) isn't being shown after you store/call the droid (the first 'tame' does not display the incorrect data though)./bow

So would I...but it's part of balancing droids as the CL10ish they are supposed to be.

It's just 20% period. How you get there doesn't matter. Also, stacking 2 Level 6's will not gain you anything..you'll just be wasting armor. Just use the one.

So, there's really no benefit to level six armor modules any more, then...
TK, you might want to see if they'll change the level 6 armor module so it doesn't require Duralloy steel or composite segments. Bloody waste to still need them without even a Light armor rating...
Heck... just remove all current droid armor modules and replace it with one "Droid Armor Module" that gives 20 percent resists. Simplify!

I find Level 6s, in the long run, to be more cost-effective to use. True, it takes more time to line up the rares/parts needed for it. But if you crate up a good run of these, you'll never need worry about using L4s again. It's all up to you. Also, using a single L6 lets me get 20% into a droid that only has one armor slot. That's a good reason to use them sometimes...
