I know thatmany of theseissues have been brought up time and time again; however I'mon a fact finding missionto gather as much data as I can to preemptively send Thunderheart, and the rest of the Development team, a message on what it is the Droid Engineering Community wants and what it does not want, complete with all the bells and whistles.I'm in the process of writing up a complete report on each and every droid, component, and skill that DE have at our beck and call andthe direction the community would like to see future development move towards.

I know that many of you will want to add your comments, but pleaselimit the information to 2-3 sentences at most per item, so I that I have less to read through, and to read each question with the following stipulations...

  • The majority of our currentbugsare fixed.

  • Additional combat droids are in the works.

  • The HAMand/or Damage value of each Droid notedwill beincreased.

  • Modified Combat Droids are to be less powerful than future combat droids.

A few things to keep in mind

  • This is only a fact finding mission that I am on. Everything listed here is for the purpose of the post thatI am trying to write.

  • This is a Poll and not a Discussion. If you wish to discuss any of these issues, please use a seperate thread to do so.

  • Respect other posters.See above.

1) Would the ablity to add Combat Modules be acceptable for the following droids?

  2. R-Series Droids

  3. Treadwell

  4. Power Droid

  5. LE Repair Droid

  6. Surgical Droid

  7. Protocol Droid

  8. Binary Load Lifter

No, I know a lot of customers enjoy lower level droids just because they are different and they like the look of the droid, so I don't think you should limit them like that.

4) What is your single biggest 'Wish List' Item?

More utility functions for droids, be it modules, innate abilities, powerup type items, anything to make them more diverse in non-combat situations.

1.) It really depends on what you mean by "acceptable". Would I quit the game if they added combat modules to all of those droids? No, so in some sense that makes them acceptable. However, I do not think that they should add combat modules to the MSE, R-series, Power, or Treadwell droids. It seems out of character to me for those droids to have any real combat capability. (R2-D2's use of the shock probe notwithstanding.) Combat modules on the bipeds seems okay because they could be carrying blasters in their hands.

2.) If forced to choose between those two options, I would choose option 1 (each droid has a specific purpose). However, I would prefer for the specific choice to be automatically provided by the specific droid, but still come in module form in other droids. I.e. an LE Repair Droid would essentially come with a free (and perhaps better) Repair Module included, but that wouldn't prevent a Repair Module from being added to a Surgical Droid if you really wanted to.

3.) No. If you really want to put a Level 6 module in an MSE droid, go right ahead.

4.) Seriously? My single biggest wish is that we do not get turned into a combat class. Do not add DE-only combat droids. Add all of the combat droids you want, but making any of them DE-only would turn us into a combat class (or pet class if you prefer) and that would ruin the profession.

Combination of both. Droids should have a specific purpose, with additional general capabilities based on modules.

A variety of droid options available at all levels of Droid Engineer, so that being a true NDE isn't a race to reach MDE so you can finally make something that can do something useful.

More/More/More module type and usefulness(i.e. someones idea for an entertainer module(sorry dont remember who it was)).

1. Why have different droids only be for looks? Modules are nice as add ons, they should make the droid what it is.

3) Do you want level limitaions placed on each droid? (I.e. MSE Droids can only have X Level Modules installed)

No. Rather droid should hold modules they are intended for. BLL have storage. MSE hold data. Surgical hold medical. Kind like in Star Wars (ha! something in SWG like SW)

4) What is your single biggest 'Wish List' Item?

That a MSE can't offer the same thing as a R3. We don't sell droids, we sell modules. The different droids are almost pure looks and nothing more. I can sell ADV MSE with all the functionality (aside combat) of any other droid.

  3. Treadwell- No

  4. Power Droid - No

  5. LE Repair Droid - No, or only low-level

  6. Surgical Droid - No, or only low-level

  7. Protocol Droid - Yes

  8. Binary Load Lifter - No

2) Which would you prefer?

  1. Each Droidto havea specific purpose ( I.e. Power Droids power other droids)

  2. Droid/Module Combos (I.e. LE Repair Droid/Repair Module = Repair Droid white bar damage)

I would prefer innate abilities (i.e. option 1).

That said, I would most prefer a combination of the two. Ffor example, a repair droid that can only take repair modules, which differ by types or qualities -- maybe an LE Repair droid can take a "droid repair" module to fix other droids, or a "structure repair" module to fix structures. Or a surgical droids that can take "wound medical modules" to help medics heal wounds, or "stimpack modules" which provide some limited white-damage healing abilities without stimpacks, or something like that.

3) Do you want level limitaions placed on each droid? (I.e. MSE Droids can only have X Level Modules installed)

Yes

4) What is your single biggest 'Wish List' Item?

Modules for the other professions and droid certifications: I see both as being equal. I want droids for every profession. Crafting stations for crafting professions (we already have that). Medic modules for the medic professions (we already have this, but it can be expanded). Hologram or special effect generation modules for entertainers. Combat modules for those in combat professions (with certs to limit usage of higher-end droids). Creature library modules for CH and BE professions. Makeover stations for Image Designers. Or something else for entirely for each one.

1) Would the ablity to add Combat Modules be acceptable for the following droids?

  1. MSE -- Yes. But, only the bomb they have discussed
  2. R-Series Droids -- No. Unless it was to somehow repair/sabotage vehicles
  3. Treadwell -- No. But, the droid does need a purpose of some sort
  4. Power Droid -- No. Unless, it were to somehow draw power from other droids or vehicles (the anti-droid Droid)
  5. LE Repair Droid -- No. Repair functions only. Maybe sabotage functions on other droids and vehicles.
  6. Surgical Droid -- Not directly. However, they should have the ability to heal group members with stims placed in them.
  7. Protocol Droid -- No. They are ambassadors and should not be known as combatants.
  8. Binary Load Lifter -- No. These are heavy, slow moving work droids.

2) Which would you prefer?

  1. Each Droidto havea specific purpose ( I.e. Power Droids power other droids)
  2. Droid/Module Combos (I.e. LE Repair Droid/Repair Module = Repair Droid white bar damage)

Combination of the two. Either low level modules allowed in all droids and high level only allowed in appropriate types, or modules in appropriate types have bonuses. So, a medical module in a protocol droid would be limited to level 2, or a medical module in a Surgical droid would provide a 10% bonus to whatever the level medical module in it. Same with armor. Only combat droids should be able to take the heavy armor.

3) Do you want level limitaions placed on each droid? (I.e. MSE Droids can only have X Level Modules installed)

Each droid should have it's own use. It can have low level modules from some other uses, but not high level ones. See #2.

4) What is your single biggest 'Wish List' Item?

Develop modules for each character type (combat, crafter, entertainer, medic). This will make Droids more useful and provide benefit to all character types as well as increasing the 'Star Warsiness' of the game.

Fix buggs on Surgical and Repairdroids so they function as intended... and permanent colors. Surgical Droids should increase the regeneration rate on allplayers (not pets)nearby. Repairdroids shouldhighly increase the regen rate of white HAM on droids nearby. BUT.. onlywhen the other droids not fighting and is nearby. (Perhaps repair speeders in camp)

Frankly, adding combat ability to these droids destroys the Star Wars feel to the game. None of the droids were combat capable in the movies. They shouldn't be combat capable here. Stay true to Star Wars and add new chassis for combat droids. In other words, the Battle Droid chassis line.

And to the fools who are still screaming to have no certifications on combat droids, do you really want the best droid we can make to be a POS Creature Level 10 combat droid? Cause that's what the DEV's will put in if you get your no ceritication wish. Quit getting us nerfed.

1) MSE, R-Series, Treadwell, Power, BLL
2) Both. Certain droids have specific functions (ie: power droid, surgical, repair droid) and cannot be duplicated in other droids 100% (ie: repair droid repairs all ham on a droid, whereas a repair module would repair ham at the cost of 1 vitality point, surgicals have a medical rating of 120%, etc.)
3) Yes. In fact, get rid of levels of modules all together and limit the capacity based on droid chassis and experimentation.
4) To be corrospondant. NOT rofl... seriously, it'd have to be something that everyone wants to buy to increase sales. I don't care what, but if it'll sell I want it.
