TH asked for me to give him a list of questions from the community so here I am brandishing the DE symbol for all to see. I'll pull questions from this thread some time tomorrow and send them off to TH to be answered.

For my normal list of requests to help me accomplish this task

  • Please try to limit yourself to 3 questions.

  • Keep the questions inKISS form. (Keep It Simple Stupid :robottongue

  • Please refrain from questions like 'Why the*self edit*are you making a DH profession?' If you want to DEV bash please do it on your own time.

Thanks everyone.

"Why is a Binary Load Lifter unable to perform any functions whatsoever?"

"Why is it that droid repair modules fail to function in LE Repair droids?"

"Why has it been months since users could rename any conversational droid?"

Who wears the pants in this relationship?

Are you worried about the high drug use by DEs?

(sorry couldn't resist)

What kinds of new level 10 droids will we be seeing in publish 7?

Why does droid coloring have to fade?

Can the wording of the droid "customization" messages be fixed? Something referring to paint or color would be more appropriate, and would not scare droid customers into thinking something is wrong with their droids.

  • Will post publish 7 probots require combat modules, or will they retain their inherrent combat functionality?

  • We have heard about the upcoming updates, and have a sketched out schedule for the combat droids. When will we see the rest of the bug fixes that have been logged in the Corrorspondant posts since the early days of Sintrosi?

  • What are the plans (and schedule) for adding more modules to allow use of droids for enhancement of more professions? (e.g., slicer modules for smugglers, etc)

**edit** enter! Grrrr! LOL

In all seriousness, the current state of the profession makes it hard to ask questions. We had a lot of clarifications in the last Q&A, but right now we're in limbo. Probably the only question I'd have (other than asking when the Seeker exploit will be fixed) is when will we see some action with new features to the DE profession? We don't know what they're planning on doing, all the bugs have been clarified or are being fixed... I'mjust kinda meh towards DE right now.

The big thing is not whether or not doing the job, but putting the Devs in a position where we can actually get information. By knowing the questions ahead of time, we know exactly what they are seeing and what they are avoiding.

Also worries me slightly on the plan to give them 15. If they get to pick-and-choose, then they will filter out questions we would possibly want answered. Personally I'd suggest submitting 10 and seeing that they get answered.

In all events, the publishing of the list of questions gives us the view of what is happening, and that's why I'm requesting it.

If they want to take the time to do this, it's worth ALL of our time for them to unequivocally and unmistakably answers the questions. Point blank.

I think that the issue where a Dev gives an "answer", and it raises like 12 other questions, is the situation that I'm trying to avoid. We need clarity.

Thats why Irequestedthat the questions be in KISS form. More complex questions will only lead to answers that create more questions. I'll see if I can make sure that each question is 'fully' answered before I post the results of the Q&A session.

Droids, complex mechanical systems which mimic autonomous life, do virtualy nothing other than stand around, look cool, and ask for batteries. Do you recognize that the primary bone of contention between the devs and the DE community, perhaps the most important issue that you face, is the lack of functionality in utility droids? Is the advent of a Droid Handler - type class the end of the 'Droid Invasion'? If not, when can we expect basic droid functionality to be fleshed out?

Argh again!

"The big thing is not whether or not you are doing the job....

(in all references, the meaning is not to put you to blame but to provide some real accountability in the developers' actions for once by publishing the questions before they are asked to the devs... if we had this to begin with there wouldn't be any of these questionaires, arguments, etc. Might as well put a stop to it here)
