Need to get somewhere cheaply? I'm your man. Charter space flights. If for group hunting, it's free as long as im involved If for anything else, see me about fees(Alot cheaper than normal interplanetary transportation).

Need a job done? Need protection? Need anything? Ask!

Don't drag and drop batteries... that just puts them into the droid's semi-broken inventory. Instead, use the 'Recharge' option from the radial menu.

Does this occur a set amount of time from when you 'Call' your droid out or is it dependant on what it does? Nothing like needing your probot in the heat of battle and it give you this message.

Thanks

No set time just how much you have it out. A quick solution is just to store it then take it out again and it has full life and full power.

Or recharge, if you have batteries in your inventory, which means you can continue on without having to set up camp. Just remember to buy extra batteries before you leave town. Any engineer, just about, can make these, and should sell them relatively cheap. Master Artisans can sell them in stacks, so that you get four battery usages per battery, for example.

What's up with a droid only having like a 10 minute use per battery? I mean jesus that's worse than the very first battery ever built. I think it lasted 20...

The "exploit" was to store it and recall it and it would be fully charged again. But after this patch can no longer do that, it still is Low Power. I honestly don't think our customers want to carrry around 4-5 crates of batteries for their droid. I know I don't want to and I am a DE.

Either batteries need to last a LOT (like24 hours RL time) longer or they just need to get rid of them.

I didn't see C3PO or R2D2 stop every 10 minutes and say they needed another battery. Just think of the scene of them walking through the desert on Tatooine. They crash land leave the exscape pod and then walk for 10 minutes and stop and complain they need power.....

Some people have been reporting on the main discussion board that their droids seem to be using up the batteries while in the datapad.

No doubt this is a side-effect of someone commenting out the line of code that said

calledDroid->Recharge();

at the time of calling it. Unfortunately, this likely exposed the underlying bug that the droid had been using power all along, because now we get to see what the power level was without a nice recharge.

My guess would be that whoever added that little line in the first place never bothered to add a comment as to just WHY they were introducing this 'undesirable behavior', so the next guy to come along wasn't clued in.

Combine that with what appears to be a badly strained version control system and a lack of full regression testing (or perhaps lots of testing that is essentially ignored) and you get the kind of thing we are seeing here.

I have noticed this as well. It makes me far less inclined to use droids at all, and that seems criminal.

The problem is that droids were WAY too desirable before this weekend, which is why we've had so many people here complaining about how this is really 'BattleBots Galaxies'.

*sigh*

I used my probot for hours yesterday. I think they should lower the need to recharge droids considerably, maybe to once a day or something. But it's not game breaking. Just stock-up on batteries, and plop them in when the bot complains.

I was running around Lok before the server went down, trying to make it out to the Droid Cave quest, for the second time. (First time I made it all the way through, by myself, just to find out that the quest was bugged.) I tried to keep track the ammount of time that it took between charges. I haven't tested it more than once, but it would appear that a Probot will lose its charge after 20 minutes, give or take a few minutes.

I agree that the batteries should last longer. I typically run around my shop with my R2 unit out because he helps my out with crafting and holding supplies but with him losing power and needing to be recharge every 10-15 minutes he's becoming more of a bother than anything else.

I think the battery should last 1 to 2 RT hours depending on the quality of the battery...hmmm or maybe the durability of the battery. Actually that sounds good. The durability affects the duration of each charge and the other experimentation value affects how many charges per battery.

i have noticed that after logging on from being offline for a while that when i call any droid out, it is low on power from the start also.
