Alright, so we're all DE' sor aspiring DE's here. We all worked our BUTTS off to get to the Novice block. We all spend 5k to learn it. We all spent insane amounts of time havesting the resources for MSE droids. We all spend time crafting said MSE droids.

WHY IN THE NAME OF ZEUS'S BUTTHOLE (name that movie)

would you give your droids away for free???? This is a struggling new ecomony. SELL THEM OR DESTROY THEM OR RELEASE THEM. DO NOT give away freebies when other DE's are trying to make a living!

Be courteus. If selling in a town with an alread established DE, set your prices the same. Don't sell for 300 what they are selling for 700, for example. AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD don't sell Medical Mouse droids for anything LESS than 1000 credits. Medics love these, and that price is VERY reasonable for something that immensely useful to them. If weaponsmiths can sell pistols for 4-7k, which take FAR less effort to get up to being able to make AND they get UXP for them, why should we sell nothing or give them away? Be smart people

Don't go running around town bashing other DE's business practices in /shout. You want to talk to the other DE about something they are doing wrong, that's fine. You want to advice your customers against buying from someone who is not selling decent product? that's fine. But do it quietly.

That's all I have at this time. We need to keep up the pressure on the devs to fix the DE problems, so remember to /bug EVERYTHING that doesn't work right, and CSticket it as well.

Please comment at your leisure. Flaming is not welcome. Constructive criticism is fine.

Hey Kaelas, It's Jo from Bestine (starsider) as well. I got about 3k xp till I hit Novice Droid Engineer. I agree on everything that you said. We Droid Engineers need to make money, and this is a good idea. The only thing that worries me is....for instance lets say you establish yourself as the primary Droid Engineer in Bestine and you have lots of customers. Then theres me who is also trying to establish business, but cannot do so because of the more advanced droids your making and known reputation so people will only buy from you. The only option I would have is to lower prices. Those medic mouse droids that you sell for 300...I would want to sell for 200 to gain reputation for selling cheap. Thats the only problem there is with this whole Keep The Prices the Same Deal. The only solution would be to join a partnership of some sort or one of the DE's to head to another city. I want to keep the prices up and not give away as well, but its easier said then done when people are out there trying to make money the fastest way possible and establishing themselves. I myself, I will stick to your prices in Bestine and play on an equal field, but if there is any notion that I can't make money trying to be equal I will have to drop my prices. It's all about the competition for the mucho deniro.

It's called a supply and demand economy. When DE's start grinding out 100's of mouses to advance thier is going to be a surge in supply causing the price to drop. My advice is to not put all your eggs inone basket, I make serveral things other than droids to sell, and I am making a lot of money. The requirments formouse droids needs to be way steeper and the xpneeds to be increased, this is the only way to avoid having to grind, which in turn leads tosupply being greater then demand.

good stuff here guys.

Giving away a few is fine. I did that to test the Medical Mouse too. Couldn't believe it when it worked. People DO want droids, i've sold 50+ in the last 24hours, mixture of Medical Mouse and no-frills Mouse. I'm selling Medical for 1000 and no-frills for 700.

I got to get some sleep, just wanted to throw that in. g'nite. will post more tomorrow.

Actually, as far as I know Medical Mouse only allows Medics to use their skills outside of Med Center as though they were actually IN a Med Center

the med medical droids work like a medical droid does. if you try to use the heal woun command in the wrong areas it comes back with a " you must be in a camp, hospital nor near a medical droid to use this skill"

the mse droids are gonna rock once we start getting in to the higher levels. they are the low end droid that can become nearly anything. wih some of the other modules we can provide storage, medic functions or even crafting tools to our customers.

Dont go cut throat on each other people, there are very few of us as it is.

Who would pay 1000 for a mouse droid. I couldn't give the stupid things away if I tried. As fore being usefull to medics, what exactly does one do for a medic. I thought they just let a non-medic use stimpacks at a 35 medic skill?

This is very true, on most every server (I'm sure).

DEs, by comparison, make up a very small number of the playerbase. So, there's a lot of potential customers out there for all of us. No one should really need to give droids away.

The issue is helping those that haven't bought know why they should buy a droid. It may not be fun, but educating your client = selling to your client.

Well I sell my mouse droids for 10k (yes 10k). My Portable Weapon Crafting Station sells well.

Its all about marketing your droid. Rename the deed with a catchy phrase. How about my SuperTank R3? or my HarvestMaster droids?

You get the picture.

People who undercut dont understand the value of their product and will probably quit the prof anyway.

TK makes an excellent point. I admit, I am not a master DE and it will be a Very long time before I am (I do not have time to grind). At the same time, I have a lot of very happy new players/customers who buy a DZ70 droid with a combat module (rated 25 to 75) at 650cr (estimated cost to build 90cr). Furthermore, once they can shot something bigger then a chupa they come back to buy an advanced version. The advanced DZ70 is ‘good enough’ tell either I make master DE or they can afford to buy a maxed-out droid from another DE.

It is not about the money, it is about having fun. If selling an inexpensive droid to a lot of people helps them to enjoy the game, then that is what I will do and be very pleased with myself.
