Barfalomue,
For now, as a test, try:
Group: "Bob Group"
Stay: "Bob Stay"
Patrol: "Bob Patrol"
...etc.
In addition, does any name other than "Bob" work? Just to try to mix up what you're doing and see if you can get ANY name to stick at all. The name and commands themselves are less important. I just need to know if naming is or is not fundamentally borked.

I have tried other names other than "Bob" no go. This eve when I get home, I will attempt to use the procedure you have expressed here, and some other besides my 1, 2, 3 method. Then I will get back to you on this thread.

I have made several DZ70A crafting droids for my crew since Pub7 and none of the people have had any problems naming them using the convential method. Just FYI

Yes...I suspect it's the numbers for commands that is the issue here.

I have had no trouble naming any of my droids since the publish. It is definitely the numbers that is causing the issue...

I could name a droid once it was crafted, but cannot change it's name once it's name has taken... Tried to trade the droid and have a friend rename it also...no joy...
This was not an issue prior to publish 7...

Publish 7 seems to have introduced a "new" naming filter on droids. It seems slightl below intelligent, but you can name your droid Bob, Luke, a bunch of combinations taking Four to Nine and multiplying the number of letters so the # letters matches the word (Fivee, Ssiixx etc.). Warden and Shadow also work.
What doesn't work is Han, Chewbacca and Guardian. No matter how I tried to teach them their names, they didn't react (and I used my "real" commands, engage, hold, come here, chase).
If Bob doesn't work your in trouble. If Bob does work but the name you really want for your droid doesn't, well, consider yourself a part of an experiment to attempt and figure out what they actually did with droid naming -_-

Well, am I missing something or are all my droids unable to be named now?
THIS SHOULD BE A HOTFIX if it is a bug.

You can't name 'Conversational' droids (Protocol, LE, etc.) droids.

All others should be able to be named...

Actually TRT, I can not name any of my droids either. R2 units, R3 units, DZ-70, or any of the other non-conversational. It is pretty annoying. Someone asked my why I hadn't named my little R2 droid. I said I couldn't. They sat & watched while I tried. I try once per week to do it, but it doesn't work. I keep thinking they will HOTFIX it, they haven't. Unless it is just maybe my droids? Who knows.
