ok I know this one. I ran in to this earlier. after much dinking around I found that droid names can nolonger include special charicters. (such as _ - ` ~) I'm not sure about numbers. I did find that all leters do work with no spaces ofcourse.

There are no special characters in Chewbaccanor Han,yet it rejects that flatout. Whatever kind of filter they've got now, it's odd.

Hopefully though, it means they've partially live-ed the code to in the future make it possible to name droids with numbers, assuming we're seeing a new naming filter.

Or we're just being beaten on as they try and make regular names more Star Warsy....

Do you actually type Bob 1 ,Bob 2 so forth? Wouldnt this be the issue as you are changing the name every time you talk to it? I might be wrong but.

I have hard NO problem naming Probots and R3's before AND afterthe "Droid Retreat". I definitely renamed those new "combat" droids.

My droid is infamous..... "CombatDroidPST-Howlers", and yes it is a 1700 HAM droid, all combat modules are 110 rating. (I made TONS of sub-schematics on craft day with +21 Droid Experiment SEAs). So probots are 550 Combat, and R3's are 600 Combat

I had the same problem with only 4 named commands - but when i added a FIFTH named command - suddenly it worked. Don't know why it changed after Pub 7, but I believe it did. Try using 5 commands instead of 4 - hope this helps

I haven't had any trouble naming droids.

Note:

  • Numbers don't work in names.

  • Hyphens do, but you can only use one.

  • There is a maximum number of characters that you are allowed to use in a name & command. The longer the name, the shorter the command must be. Luckily, it allows a pretty long name (I haven't counted though).

So what is the exact process of naming a driod.

I tried with my MSE

The driod was my focus. I chose the command Follow and then used /say micky follow

is this the correct format?

I believe they follow the character name filter...
