Thread: my combat droid wont attack? is this a bug or am i doing something wrong

i have a combet/med droid. i have trained it and it shows a ! when i say the command. it however wont attack anything i am in battle with.

you command attack (or A if that is how you trained) need to be in spatial.. or a /tellpet command



Also you must you what you want to attack targeted when you make the command

Batteries!


Make sure your droid is charged, otherwise it won't engage in combat.

...and are you using the "attack" command or the "ranged attack" command? Because the "ranged attack" one isn't actually an attack, it's a toggle that sets your droid to ranged or melee mode (not all droids have this), there used to be a message that came up on the screen but tbh I dunno if it does these days.

be helpful if you could tell me the droid type...you 100% that the DE put a combat module in it?

Yeah, make sure it actually has a combat module in it - I've made a few where I've been a bit to clicky & put in one too many auto-repair modules!

Well this is strange.... if it has combat module and you and is charged and everything else and still no??????

Ha...won't attack...I once had a combat LE droid run away from something I told it to attack.
True story.


Mind you it was a kimogila...and it's restraining bolt probably got loose.

I have the opposite problem . My r3 combat droid thinks he is rambo . He will attack what I tell him to, helping me until he gets bored and goes off 50m or so to get his own lair...usually something class 80...I have tried every punishment for him I can think of..including renaming him bubba but he still does it .

Haha.. bubba. That is great.


I haven't had any problems with my pet as far as attacking/etc. He's an R3 with attack module. When I tell him to attack, he does until he dies. Never runs or anything.


I do have a question though since someone mentioned this. My droid says he has a ranged attack, but no matter what I do to toggle it on, he still runs up to the enemy and sticks that rod out of his shell and attacks with it melee style.

This is normal ATM, maybe forever, who knows. Only Probots have ranged attacks, all others will close to melee range and attack regardless of this setting. Also Probots do default to this, no changing of it's settings is nessecary, they always attack at range with blasters.
