Yep feels good to be told we are being listened to, and that the 'boys' have thought 'long and hard'...seems all they did was change the name to Droid Master.

I for one am not making them..not at least until the ever so helpful to all profession droids are in place.

I wish I could meet TH face to face..it would give me great satisfaction to give him a lovely (an ladylike of course) slap in the face...just like he has done to me (or us)

You have every right to that action m'lady. You are correct,. Why did ThunderFart even post his "CHange of Heart" message. As usual the devs will not listen to the playerbase and community. I was holding out til this patch to see if they would fix DE. I just got finished filling out their survey wanting to know why I am quitting SWG. Too bad they don't have an option listed under "Lying developers and broken promises". I gained some satisfaction, at least, in asnwering the final question of if I would ever come back if they changed. If they had had a h e l l no I would have picked that but alas...

Just for info.....they moved it to 'in Development'

Am I missing something here? I don't see the post in the "In Concept" forums, and in the "In Development" forums I find this:

"The first approach is to take the existing Droid Engineer and re-vamp it so that it changes from solely a crafting profession to a hybrid profession. The majority of the Droid Engineers have stated that they prefer it to be a crafting only profession so development has discarded this as an option. (I mis-spoke on the Droid Handler issue. My apologies)."

And then he goes on to say the following:

"The third approach is to add a “Droid Master” profession. The idea here is if you want to control high level combat droids, you must invest skill points in the profession the same way creature handlers do."


Well if I'm not mistaken, isn't this "Droid Master" the same thing as this "Droid Handler" that TH admits he mis-spoke about earlier?

So what's going on? Do you think if you give it a different name, that we're going to accept it? Its still the same thing, no matter what you call it, and we don't want it.

Why do you care? I bet you less than half of your business with be from the Droid Master profession after the initial burst of people trying it out. Then you'll go back to where you have always been - selling mobile crafting stations, item storage and med bots. Me, I'm ordering another factory or two now to get ready for the onslaught and for buffing my bank account even more.

I care because its wrong hun, just plain wrong. And there thousands of posts here to tell you why so I won't bother. As for money, if I can make 7 figures easy out of DE why do I care if the new droids cost a fortune in a limited market? what is there to spend it all on anyway? Droids are for EVERYONE not the exclusive few.

I see however what motivates you..the dollar signs are shining in your eyes poor you. Shame you cant ...nah. I wont say it.

Shian, hate to break it to you, but droids are not for everyone. Utility droids are, yes. Combat droids, no. Go read just a fraction of the EU material and you'll quickly learn this. In fact, given the time span that Galaxies is situated in, Combat droids are explicitly outlawed by the empire. Having one of any form is close to a certain death warrant in this time span. the only "combat droids" you get are those controled by the empire and local government authorities for law-enforcement purposes.
