Thread: Harvester Droids, quick Qusetion
I made 2 R3 Adv 'uber harvest' droids last night, one had a bonus of 95, the other was 120.
It didn't seem to have a measurable impact but that might be due to other bugs/issues that are getting addressed right now.

Right now, I'm waiting for the morning update notes for TC to get posted before I dive into things too much.

Respectfully,
So, what's not known is how much a Novice Scout should be able to get with a 120 Harvest droid vs. a Master using the same droid on the same mob type.
THAT would be a true test of how this should all scale in the long term.
I guess that means I need to try to make 2 Harvest droids with the same stats and get them into a Master's hands (and maybe grab Novice Scout myself to do the test). Then we can get some real 'scale testing' going...

...more to come, when I have it...

Respectfully,
They can harvest in combat. What happens is you set the droid to harvest (the corpse of what you just killed) and then you can move on to the next live mob.

Will these droids be able to harvest while you are in combat? Or do they just 'chew the cudd' until you are out of combat to get cranking?

Respectfully,
I'm missing something on how this module provides any utility whatsoever ...
Currently if I'm killing & harvesting mobs, I kill the first one, type /harvest meat, then kill the next one and hit cntrl-uparrow to repeat previous command, etc. etc. ... and if I'm rushed, I just kill everything first and harvest after.
So, with the droid, I don't see that I'm saving any time or mouse-clicks or typing at all. In fact it sounds quite likely I'll have *more* typing & mouse clicks to achieve the same result, plus pay for the overhead of droid maintenance and batteries.

its more of a convenience thing for those scouts/rangers who like to take things down from a distance. I've already gotten some positive feedback from some people on TC. The general idea is you stay at distance with your weapon (generally a rifle), take a couple shots at the creature, use the scout droid to throw whatever trap slows it down, take it the rest of the way out, harvest without having to move all the way up to the lair, rinse, and repeat.
If you shoot a regular creature lair v. a mission lair, the regular creature lair will spawn more npc targets. the faster you clean up the bodies, i.e. harvest their resources, the faster you go through the mob and collect resources. Grouped with a droid and you get a combat/weapon xp bonus. I would be able to grind more xp and collect more resources using this type of droid I feel.
