In some cases when you do combat you might get aggroed by several mobs at once. If the damage output isn't high or fast you might lose some of the corpses before the combat is over and thus lose whatever resource you wanted to harvest from them. The resource harvest droid can harvest the resources while you are busy doing combat

Your assuming you yourself are in harvesting range, for many of the scouts I know this isn't the case.

Being a rifleman, I'm usually well out of the by-hand harvest range of my kills. It would be nice to have an option to have the droid automatically harvest *everything* that you kill, but on the other hand it would be very easy to make a macro for the command, and bind it to a key or mouse button.
I already have most of the numpad bound to CH commands, be pretty easy to add one for this.
