Thread: Join the City of Droid Mecca on Test Center
- Test Center Prime has never been wiped. TC-Prime is geared towards operating like a Live server and has never had a database wipe. Wehavehad a number of vendor loss issues, due to mothballing, but for the most part, the database of Test Center, including characters, structures, and items, has been intact since launch.
- Youstart out with3 character slotson TC-Prime. This means that you could have a Droid Engineer/Creature Handler/Novice Smuggler, a Artisan/Merchant/Armorsmith, and a Bounty Hunter/Squad Leader/Novice Pistoleer if you wanted to. Three toons per each account gives you the freedom to pick and chose a number of professions that you may not have the chance to play normally.
- TC-Prime currently has double XP. It is unknown if this is here to stay, but there have been a number of rumors that suggest that double XP is on TC in order to entice a few more people to join up. With double XP and a good combat group, anyone can have a fully completed combat template simply by playing an hour a week, for a couple of weeks. Imagine the BLL grind to Master Droid Engineer, with double XP per build.
- /tcpa. Test Center is one of the few places where you can findan active server community that actssimilar toa guild. The population on Test Center is fairly small right now, but more old and new faces have been joining our ranks on a daily basis. Asking around on /tcpa will usually result in you finding what you are in need of, whether it be armor, weapons, an XP group, etc.
- Me.
Ok, so a verbose wind bag may not be a great thing about joining Droid Mecca, but it may keep you entertained. - Minimal Gank squads. Most of the Test Center population have a written/spoken understanding to not intentially interfer with each others testing process. PvP is generally considered consentual. There are a few places where PvP is encourage, such as Tombstone on Tattooine, however for the most part, you won't see groups of Imperials running around with AT-ST looking for a red dot to pick on, or a Rebel Jedi trying to find a triple incap fix. It does happen, however the rate of occurance doesn't come close to how often it can happen on Live.
- Vet Rewards on Test Center do not count against those gained on Live. This works both ways. You could claim a reward on Test Center, without worring that it would remove the reward from your Live characters.
- Factory Use
- Resources
- Harvesters (Powered and Payed for)
- XP / Credit Grouping
- Housing
- A city
- A guild
- Etc..
Here is what I would request from you...
A couple ofhours of log in time. This could be every week, every other week, or once a month. It all depends on your own schedule of play. As long as you show that you are interested in trying to help Test Centers population, so that we don't get mothballed, and are interested in helping the DE community in some means, I will be more then willing to help you get started and beyond.
With the expections of the months of Febuary thought June, I can be found on Test Center allhours ofthe day and night, on one of my 6 toons. I will be more then willing to help people with hunting groups to gain XP and credits, test new content, offer training, and much more. If you are willing to put in the time to help out, then I would be willing to do what it takes you keep you coming back.
You could test and bug, or not, anything that you see fit to do. The city would be there simply as a place to allow you to get away from the hussle and bustle of running a Droid Engineer business, and let you concentrate on other aspects that you find interesting.
So, my question to you is this....
If I was to create the City of Droid Mecca, on Test Center, would you be willing to help keep it alive and prosperous?
I want to know if this idea is something that would be of interest in the DE community and whether not I should start working towards its means. I have some pillars to start the foundation of this ideal, but I want to see if there are those that would help to build upon the foundation.
If there is support for what I propose, I will work towards making the dream a reality and try to speed up the process that I have begun.
I'm asking for a Yes or No response to the question in green. You can list your comments, but please clearly state a yes or no answer at the begining of your post.
/chatr join SWG.TestCenter.Chat.tcpa
This is the chat channel used by a large portion of the TC community. You can usually find at least 5 people loged on to the channel at even the slowest times of the week.
PS - If you want to contact me ingame, my Toons are as follows, according to use - Calous, Krishi, Drakalous, Warric, and Drashka (One toon is currently a secret
). There are more ways then one, to make sure that the City of Droid Mecca gets off the ground. PM or message me ingame for more details, if you would like to help the cause. ![]()

But you should call the new city "01".
And for a time, it was good.

I'll assist where I can. If anything, it'd be nice to have a place for DE's from all over to gather for conventions or meetings and such.
That is one of the major principles behind wanting to set such a city up, or at the very least a guild. The DEA was a great concept that was put together by TK and TheWoody, to name a few, however I don't think that it ever lived up to its potential.
I think that the major down fall that it had was that once the galaxy wide meeting was over, not much more communitcation happened between or community memebers. With having a centralized base of operations that is outside the realm of Live, where we compete against and with each other, we might have the chance to come together a little more often and just shoot the **** with each other about this or that concept of issue. By having it in a city that is established by Droid Engineers, for Droid Engineers, we would create something that has a little more power behind it, not to mentiona littlemore meaning behind it as well, since we would be invloved in building something that may have an impact on the game.
Whatever catches the attention of the Devs to help us out,
I will serve...
I haven't checked on my TC DE in a while, but I think he's about 4424 or so.
I've started laying down the ground work for the City.
If you are interested in commiting a little bit of time and effort to this project, either through joining the city or donations to the city, please contact me either ingame, or via PMs.
I can be found ingame as Calous, Drashka, Drakalous, Krishi, Warric, and Kal'us. Don't forget that you can use the cross server chat to send me a tell. /t servername.playername
Special thanks to Rasal and Igie for helping out last night .
