Thread: maintenance droids have travel fees?

Not sure if anyone else has noticed mentioned this, but I just found out about it so I figured I'd start up a post. A customer just sent me a /tell asking how much the travel costs for maintenance droids were. This was the first I had heard of any travel cost so I did some experimenting. I sent me droid out from naboo to my shop on tatooine, watching my bank the whole time. The droid took the 1 credit I had it deposit, as well as an additional 1400 credit "travel fee"... While I don't really care about an additional 1400 (I'm generally dropping 100k in maintenance whenever I send them out anyway), some of my customers do. Anyone else run into this?

You've gotta be kidding me.
If that's the case, then they really really really need to allow the droids to add power.

Yea they should. I mean their AI is advanced enough to realize that you do not ride for free, then whats wrong with adding a little power. Lol.

So can the droid talk to the ticket collector too?

Wow, a hidden tax. Nice. Anyway we can get a peice of that, maybe 10%?
Did you by chance test to see if this is a constant? 1400cr travel to anywhere, or was this the actual shuttle cost from where you were to where it went?

Lol seriously? I never knew that. Here I thought they were just really uber with their own hyperdrives.
Hmmm wonder if I can teach mine to just hitch a ride in somebody elses pack. Could be a good selling point.

This sound very very wrong and need some attention.

I haven't had a chance, but I will test to see if its the same fee for going from dantooine to tatooine (so more hops inbetween). I don't have structures on multiple planets I can test it out with though, if anyone wants to check that.

You know, this is probably another quiet ploy for them to get some of that duped cash gone quickly. Imean there is so much of that around and no way to get rid of it anymore and shuttle tickets that people buy only burn so much. But who knows? It's SOE

quick update, I tried it with my droid on the same planet as the factory and this time there was no travel fee, so it looks like its proportional in some way... going to try doing it from dantooine to tatooine later tonight probably.

Hey, I just realized something. We need to fire our Maint droids, they are of goofing around when they should be working.
Since we now know that they actually ride the shuttles to other planets, since they pay a ticket fee. Well what about the Shuttle time change? Back when it was a 10 minute wait, they took 30-45 minutes. Since they are still taking the ships, yet times are shorter, that means they are only waiting 5 minutes, and should be back in 15-23 minutes right?
So what exactly are they doing with that extra time? I know somewhere there are 200 maint droids, kicking back in a cantina, watching some HOT LE droid dance.
