Thread: any problems with 2 level 4 med modules in a droid?

Hi,
I got a surgical droid abotu a month ago. It has a food/chem crafter
and 2 level 4 med modules to give it 110 med ability. In the last 2 weeks
I've not been able to use to healing functions of the bot. my other 2
crafter unit bots have just one level 4 med module, and they work.

Is there a new wrinkle that 2 modules stops it from working?
thanks for any input on this.

None at all. In fact, that is how most of us non-master-DEs make decent money selling "surgical droids" to the medics. Production III is your friend - lvl4 med and socket clusters

Honestly, we just don't know for sure. But there has been a rather suspiciously large number of reports about med modules failing lately. Many of these have been explained away by the battery/power problem, but a few sticy ones remain... /bug it.

I don't see how stacking can be an exploit, UNLESS you are using socket clusters in non-socket cluster spots. If a droid has a limited amount of space, you have to sacrifice. Maybe a lower med rating, with a crafting station; or higher med rating and no crafting station. If you're a master, you don't have to sacrifice.

Now if you are exploiting using socket clusters in general module slots, that's a problem. If modules weren't stackable, nobody but master DE's would sell anything. Nobody wants subpar droids. Everybody wants the best money can buy, because most have too much money anyway.

Stacking armor modules is not an exploit because many droids have multiple slots labelled specifically for armor plates.

This is true but the theory where stacking two low level mods to equal the highest levelstill applies to armor wouldnt it? You cant stack 2 lvl 6s to get anything higher than 40% resists medium (I wish you could though lol). As is my general socket cluster also has multiple slots labeled for mods and doesnt specifically say only one type of moduleper cluster.

Im not saying its supposed to be that way and I wish this would get changed, I just dont see at as being a harsh exploit more like a bug that the devs dont feel is terrible urgent to fix.

True enough, but novice weaponsmiths and novice armorsmiths manage. The Master box gives them something to shoot for. Master WS and Master AS are really the only ones selling their respective wares too. Droids are no exception. You can't take 2 SG82 rifles, tape them together and end up with a master-quality T21. You can't take 2 chitin armor chest plates and stack them to make the equivalent of an advanced composite chest plate. 2 large houses can't be stacked to make a PA Hall. Why are we special in this regard?

Isaac, you really don't need to be so condescending. Perhaps you might actually look at the backgrounds here. I'm a "Novice" in that I'm not a Master. I'm half a skill box away from Master DE and have only done one small grind since attaining 1,0,0,3 and that was for less than half the XP needed for Refinement I. Since then I've been making and selling droids and that has been the only way of obtaining XP. I've been a DE for well over two months now and making quite a healthy profit at it too. I certainly know what I'm talking about. You want to find novices - go find the posts of the people here that are "So I've just managed to grind my way to MDE, how do I make a droid?"

For the guides - read the descriptive text on the Cluster. What does it say? Paraphrasing (because I haven't been in the game today so I'm running on slightly faded memory) "You can get higher abilities for a droid by stacking multiples of the same module type together". The rest I can't recall offhand because I'm at work

You cant take two adv probots and combine them either to get a super probot.

We're not talking about final products here, we're talking about modules. If you have two crates that hold 12 eggs each, and you put them both in a box, you end up with a box that holds 24 eggs. So it makes sense that putting two datapad or storage, and in my opinion, medical modules, together results in a higher capacity.

Wow... not one person has answered the question.

Try getting a battery and recharging your droid. It seems that they go through them in about 20 minutes now and the medical modules will quit working when they get drained.

Actually reread my post, I did answer his question =). They do not work, as med modules *do not stack*. Then I went on to bring up stacking issues etc.

Good thought on the batteries though. Hopefully the consumption of them will be fixed soon for us =)

I'll try a droid battery, although I've never used one before.
I've used this droid for least a month w/o issues, as storing
and recalling tends to charge them.

I didn't expect the thread to get hijacked into a philosophical
discussion of how the DE should work. This reminds me why
I bailed out on the grind up :/ I would have bought one with
a level 6 med module 90 days ago, but I couldnt find one,
or a DE willing to make one w/o waiting several days.

I still check back here in hopes, that being a DE will be
fun to do some day for me.

Thanks for advice on the battery. Maybe loading one in
will unstick something in it.

ACK! I mentioned batteries only in passing in my post, but that IS a crucial point, I guess I figured that must have been tried already!

Droids NO LONGER RECHARGE IN THE DATAPAD. That sounds vaguely important, so I'll repeat it: Droids no longer recharge in the datapad.
