I just keep reading how droids would overpower this and droids would stack modifiers on that. Has anyone actually asked the devs what their vision of droids was?

As it stands weare out of this publish. I doubt we make the next publish. All of our big names on these boards are jaded and bitter.

No combat droids. No utilitymodules. No meaningful profession fixes (experimentation anyone?).

Why do I continue to pay these people?

Simple answer: you don't. Be like the many of us who are planning our departure as soon as we can.

Well, I started to grind to Master DE because I wanted to craft the battle droids...

I will grind to Master DE anyway, but slowly. I intend get the exploration badges and I will re-do the rebel themepark.

I am waiting EQ2 be launched, then I will try a smith or a sage at Qeynos.

If you play EQ2 all you are doing is just giving SOE the same money just for a different title. If I quit SWG, cause they keep it all borked up, they will not get any more of my money.

Well, to be honest I only seem to log on for 30 minutes or so at a time lately. I pull stuff off my factory, stock it on the vendors, see if I sold anything and log off.

A fun time for all !!

I believe that's at the heart of the porblem, isn't it? I believe they collected all the established coding for EQ, with all it's low-tech creature lairs and such, polished it up and put a Star Wars face on it, thinking they could 'add in' newer features later once they ever turned their attantion to it. Now we hear TH and Q whining about how hard it is because droids "touch so many other systems".

Heh, maybe you should have had a vision fro droids from the beginning...

The back bone of this game is very different than EQ. The servers manage the zones completely differently. This is clear because it is possible to cross server zone boundaries without pausing to await the next zone to load.

And the graphics engine and collision detection system is completely different as well. You can tell this just by studying the way the game decides if you are able to "see" a target during combat when you are in mountainous terrain amidst collidable objects. Even if you are at the top of a very steep cliff and can easily see over the small tent at the bottom of the cliff, you still can't target things on the opposite side of the tent. In other words, the system is using a 2-dimensional plane to determine visibility even though the graphics engine is 2-dimensional. This is very unlike EQ.

Whatever they did, taking the EQ code base and polishing it up is not it.

Ahhh, Gribnitz, you and I are playing the same danged way.

Oh wait, I also make trips to Naboo a couple of times a week to service a couple of harvesters.
