were you grouped with your droid? because it will bring your droid down to your level if you were.
Just like SOE. Your supposed to rise up to some ones level not the other way, well in a perfect world any how.

I agree with the way it's set up now. The droid is there to protect low level PCs, and a handy (or handier, at least) tool with higher level groups now. I wish the combat droids were more dynamic, but it's a good balance for a level 18 pet.
I haven't shared your experience. I have been working towards novice commando and novice carbineer the last few evenings with my CL 18 combat adv R3 I made myself back in the days.
It has made the hunt enjoyable, smooth and fast enough for me to like the semi solo thing. On about 4-5 occasions I have accidentally gotten aggroed by 2 mobs at the same time, me being CL 13-14 at the time and the opponents 14-15. While I was laying incapped my trusty Buzz has dispatched the mobs with ease while I was taking a nap.
Oh, and as a tip I seem to be getting much more xp if I am not grouped with my droid hunting like this (too bad I was grouped for 80% of the time).

got the same result grouped as well as ungrouped.
The same using my lvl 18 probot: destroyed by a mid-level bargle bat
I'm not a DE, but I will submit this bug as soon as possible!

That is weird. Maybe there's a certain circumstance that the bug appears. Because for me, ungrouped, my probot tears low level stuff apart w/o a scratch. Maybe grouping and ungrouping makes it so it still thinks its grouped? Might be a good test.
