Thread: Combat Droids Nerfed

I remember it being the way that you are saying beck in Beta and we talked about it on the CU forums, however a couple of weeks in, they changed it to where Pet levels don't actually change. It was a balance thing, a CH could literally have 3 level 80 pets and a level 80 droid.I think it's working the way they want it to right now, again, unless you have more information.
you may be right... been having something of an information overload the past couple days between all the CU stuff, RoW stuff, and RL stuff.
A CL18 probot by itself taking on a CL19+ creature takes multiplier damage, meaning the damage is increased by every level above the opponent is. When the droid is grouped with higher level players, it takes on that level (say, like level 50), so the multipliers change. Now the CL35 opponent's damage to the now CL50 probot gets reduced because it's effective level is now higher. In addition, the damage the probot delivers is also affected by the multipliers depending on the levels. So the probot tears apart the CL35.
So for example: A CL18 probot is grouped with a level 80 player. The player sends the probot against a CL80 opponent. The damage being dealt to the probot is still harsh, but not multipled, so its still going to wipe out the probot. Also, the damage the probot is dealing is not multiplied either, but chances are the CL80 opponent is well armored, so it will take some scratches from the showdown. This seems balanced to me.
Is that the way it works? If so, is that working right now?
Numbers
Ok, I just tested to verify that what I have been saying is correct. I am not saying this is how it is intended, but how it is actually working, although I do think this is the correct way.
I tested my Probot against level 14 mobs, he did exactly the same damage in and out of the group. The damage that he took was the same as well. Even thought his "number" changed from 18 to 1, no combat numbers changed. Regardless of grouped or not, his damage was 176, and damage received was 161.
So basically, grouping or not doesn't hurt your Droid, but if you want to raise your own CL, do it with a person not a Pet.
People have been reporting some strange behaviour in this thread. I have the stangest. My probot (pre-cu) one shot killed a level 56 canyon corsair last night. I just stood there and stared for a good 15 seconds. Could not repeat the occurance. Thing is the combat log said it only did 88 damage, but that corsair was dead as could be nonetheless.

Report such incidences in the focus thread about cons and creatures. It is such anomolies that they want reported.
Jenden, I'm sirry, but I don't think that is true. Yes the number next to the droid will change, but nothing else does. Damage dealt in and out of the group by and to the droid shouldn't change.
I have tested this and that is what I saw, and other CH's have as well. Pet level doesn't actually change, it just looks like it does.
It's a balance issue, otherwise a CH could pull out 3 level 20 pets, and group with all 3 and have 3 level 80 creatures.
