I am a BE/CH. i just got a friend to buy the game and he isnt sure yet butu he seems to want to be a DE, but i know that your class is at least as broken as mine as a BE, so he wanted to know if it was worth the trouble and effort. in fact i am kinda asking too cause if our patch this week dont fix A LOT of issues (which they already said they wont finish our clones problem and that it wont even be possibly addressed until mounts and vehicles come out....MAYBE wont even be considered till Dec/Jan....crapy) any way is DE worth it? and are you guys getting updated driods and are you getting Droidika/Battle Drids? hmm let me know i am on the Kauri server and thats where he is going to play also.

Yes. When the new expansion comes out we are going to be the ship builders.

LOL, where in the world did you hear we would be shipbuilders??

DE's are broken. I don't know if they are more broken than BEs or vice versa, but it is common thought that they are at least neck and neck.

As far as being worth it, it depends. Monetarily, you most likely won't get rich quick. I guess some are lucky enough to have decent sales, but I'm only novice with blueprints 1, and only 1/3 the way to blueprints 2 so I dont have much to sell. It takes a long time to work up the skill tree, but if you really like droids and you would like building them, this is the profession to be in (like, duh).

Fixes? Not sure exactly when they will be in, but we have had word that the devs will soon be turning their attention to us. Combat droids will eventually be here, most likely with a certification system. We still have some major fixes to get, especially usefullness, experimentation, and customization.

In time, droids will once again walk (or roll, or float) across the galaxy

"Soon" being the key word there. I really wouldn't count on the profession being even somewhat fixed until at least Jan, maybe even later.

Feel free to prove me wrong Devs!

Oh, and as for the shipbuilder comment...LOL!

If thats what you heard and that's what made you decide to go DE, you'd best quit now.

However, I do believe some DE parts and components will, more than likely, be used in the starship creation process. That really is more ofan assumption on my part though, as we havn'theard much about it

We probably won't be shipbuilders but seeing how almost all fighters (except Imperial ones) reguire a droid to operate we will be important in the creation of ships...

Probably they will add a new shipbuilderHybrid profession out of some of the artisan professions, or a new elite profession.

to answer the original question.

No, I would recommend being a weaponsmith or an armorsmith. It's much more rewarding, and you don't have to explain your customer for 20 minutes how a piece of armor or a weapon works (specially if your friend is a newbie too!)

Now? HECK NO....

In maybe a year or so? Probably

Only reason I'm keeping the class is for that in maybe a year or so option. I don't want to have to start over again after they fix the fact that anyone can make a master of any profession(s) in less than 2 months...

depends on how devoted you are to this class, i was very devoted so i grinded to master without getting annoyed by the little things like mad harvester maintain rates and massive resources required to master de. yeah i know the class is kinda broken but i just feel like being a de, just a thing with me and electronics......

If you want to have the feeling of no self worth and dont have any competitive spirit at all.. DE is for you.. Oh and remember you all make the same products hurray.. Ua mquiting the game as they have done nothing for this profession.. All I wanted for 4 monthis is a battle droid that experimentation mattered on and it said who the creator was beside the serial number..

yeah it's really bad advertisement , the best u can do is put ur character searchble and all that would do is random people asking u about droid questions not to mention the search option is somewhat bugged as well and you have to stand in town all day and pray that u can sell maybe 2 droids a day.
