Thread: DE changes on TC tested some
Man, its getting late...
One more thing
Good changes to the crafting process. Crates of components show as usual in the selection window, but dbl-clicking the crate (which normally extracts 1 item and deposits it in the inventory) now places the item directly into the appropriate slot. Crate to slot, no inventory, so this saves us a couple clicks. Also, schematics that require more than 1 item from a crate will draw as many as needed from the crate at once. So the ADV brain which needs 4 (something, man its late) requires only a single dnl-click and it pulls all 4 items out at once and puts it in the slot. Also, single clicking on the crate will highlight the slot it fits in, just like raw components. (thats new, right? What time is it?)
The delay is gone. And I checked the Data module, still only schematics (tell me, who carries around schematics? Are they KIDDING?). Pets cant even be dropped there, it says something like: "An error has occured with the container transfer". SO I couldn't test it with a CH.
Oh, and I dont know if this is new or if I'm crazy, but before this I could dbl-click (examine) the decorative droid chassis in the Pa Hall and it had a line indicating who had made it. Even when that character had re-rolled. I have 2 chassis in the hall too, (BLL & Protocol) but now it does not tell you who made the chassis. This kinda sucks, as it was advertising for us.
I wll log on tomoroow sometime and post the schematic for the customization kits and XP amounts. DOnt forget the batteries! IF I cant call droids without a tent and I'm not a scout, either I buy tents, or batteries to keep the droid powered up. Will they "fix" droids instantly recharging in the datapad? Hmmm...
I have a request Devs:
Please allow us more than 1 droid out at a time! You allow 3 weenie pets out! Why not 3 non-combat droids! I'd like to be able to show my customers the kind of colors I can do, AND I would like to be able to repair/power my own droids with the Repair& Power droids! Fix Armor! FIX the repair module! And stop letting any modules above level 1 go into MSE! Stop letting med modules go in combat droids! Allow us to put waypoints in the data module! Fix armor! Stop letting crafting stations in combat droids! Allow us to experiment as much as other Masters do! Fix the colorizations so it looks nicer! Fix droids that wont retain their color after being stored 1 time! Fix armor!
Wow, thank you for taking the time to work up on TC and for sharing so much information with us! Even if this only works partly as you describe, it is still exciting news!

>>>Also, the nerf/fix (whatever) of where you can call the droid is harsh. You MUST be in your declared residence, a tent, or a city. No more public houses or buildings (Pa Hall or friends house you have Admin on) I haven't tested all permutations of this, but it looks like droid batteries will finally start getting used. Scouts will also see a market develop for their camps.
Can you 'tame' a new droid in the shop where you purchase it, I wonder?A lot of customers like to ask questions about their droid and be shown how to name it.

Unfortunately only someone with scouting skill can make use of a camp... so in effect most of us will be screwed here =((
This is especially bad because droids and pets seem to get 'stuck' often in invisible barriers... I wonder if this has finally been fixed on test center?

16 metal, 6 mineral, 3 mineral, 1 Control Unit, 1 Droid Storage Compartment
Conductivity 50%, Overall Quality 50%
Thanks Akkori! I dont have any resources on Test so I cant really test :/ I appreciate your efforts!!
Thanks a lot for your efforts Akkori. Sounds like you spent some time and dilligence on this. Two questions were brought up in this thread that I think are good ones. If anyone on TC has any ideas on them, please post:
1) When you customizecolors of an advanced chassis, doesthe resulting color appear on the final product?
2) Whenyou purchase a droid in a shop, can you then Tame it then, or do the same constraints exist for taming that do for calling it out otherwise (declared residence, city, or camp).
Thanks again Akkori.

Hey, let me know when you'll be on and we can share. I have a factory, about 12 medium miners, and amedium house. I have resources too, but, well, heheh, I may play on TC again, and I'd hate to have to gather that all up again. Especially since I waited for 2 months for Duraloy to finally show! But I think it is fair for Devs to give you guys an "allowance" each week to feed your harvs. Most of them have some leftover fuel & money in them, but not enough to count on. If the Devs cant trust you guys to NOT abuse your position, then they shoudln't let you BE a correspondent! So give the correspondents some resources and money to Test with! Otherwise you have at least a week, more like 3, before the crafters can do much. And thats only if all the name-specific resources are around during that time too!
Sintrosi, has there been any reaction from them about the new bug with coloring the droids? I found out that the BLL does not hold it's color either. Still no word on the R3...
And let me say again, that the combine changes are NICE. OH YEAH! I forgot in the sleepy haze I was in last night...
When an item is pulled out of a crate to go into the schematic it goes directly into the slot, bypassing the inventory (yes, I already said this..wait for it...) and if you need to back out of the schematic, the item GOES BACK INTO THE CRATE!! Yay!
Thank you Akkori for taking time to test and share your results. You stated the color changes are not permanent. I'm not fond of this scenario. I'd much prefer the color changes be permanent.
From this publish forward we'll be expected to customize the color at the time of sale. I suspect most DEs will simply include the customization in the initial purchase price. This likely means more resources used and time consumed in the sell of our droids without an increase in profit.
After selling a color customized droid to a client and explaining to them the customization is temporary we'll surely receive tells regarding the customization faded. Some will seek out their preferred droid engineer, others will seek out whichever droid engineer is most convenient.
Droid Engineers with the most available playtime will be able to offer 'color customizations' for as long as you own the droid.
Ask yourself these questions:
* How much time do you think it will take to get the color right initially?
* How many tries will it take to customize Artoo's colors just like the 'last droid engineer' was able to?
* Do you think you'd be able to sell 5 temporary color customizations at 200 each or 1 permanent color customization for 1,000?
* How frequently will droid owners get their customization refreshed?
* How many droid owners will not bother to get customizations because they are temporary?
* Of the droid owners that would regularly get their customization refreshed, how often would they change their customization if each change were permanent instead of temporary?
Hey, have you tried naming anything? Wondering if they got that fixed....
