What about this one though? I saw this in the update notes and have been wondering about it.

Added new schematics for droid repair kits

So did they update the old repair kit or actually add a new one?

Well, the only real thing that is different is that Droid Customization is finally here.

I am a 3304, and gave up on TC about 2 weeks ago. I have a toon on Tempest now, and call that home. I log in now & again to make some BH droids for friends and put lvl 4 components on the vendor for those who cant make them yet. I say hi, talk for a minute with the people there, then log out. I dont plan on returning till DE get some SERIOUS love. Sadly enough, except for Sintrosi (and I have it on good authority), I am still the highest DE there. Not by much maybe, I know one other who is at least a 1024 (unless she gave it up already). Anyway, when I packed it in, I moved everything to the bank. So my factories aren't up and I cant do indetical runs anymore. All I have left are things like GP, EMM, Brain (regular), etc... Only crate of ADV component I have left is Motive. Cash is tight and I need what I have to set up again if I go back.

Anyway this means I cant do anything with identical ADV brains, arm packs, or power core.

This is what I found:

Colors work, although the quality can be bad. You get a decent range (heh, I just realized I forgot to count /bonk) From the lightest bright Red, Blue, Yellow, White & Green to the most saturated. Includes a grey scale of course, and also an off-orange, a pea-green scale, a yellow-orangish scale, pink, and a small Purple/lavendar scale. All in all I will guess about 50 colors.

You must have their /consent before you can change the color of their droid. You do not need it transferred to you. Go away Griefers.

The quality is dependant on the droid. It seems that they are layering the colors over the existing droid colors, so on the Probot, the Brightest Red is pretty dark and you lose fine detail in the texture. That same Red on the LE looks much better (the LE luminosity value is higher, so it doesn't darken as much). That same Red on the DZ70 is MUCH brighter than the other 2. Again, its general luminosity is higher to start with. I did a very nice purple for Kathlean, the Tailor Correspondent.Black is *black* and looks very cool on the LE. So basically, we need them to work out a better way to color the droid by removing the underlying colors and replacing it with the new.

Okay, the Customization Kit isn't a real pain to make but you WILL want to do it in a factory, because at current, with about 850 CO and OQ materials, I was getting about 3 charges (26% Effectiveness) out of each kit. (Man I love this...I love having something new and good to share with you guys!) DE are required to use the kits! I'll say that again JIC: A DE is the only ones that can use the Customization kits to change droids colors. This will make for a nice stream of income for DE since the color change is ALSO not permanent. I can see a couple of us sitting by a STarport charging 200c per color change. Here is the other part of that: You can view, in real-time, the color changes before committing to it, but they (droid owner) cannot! You click on the colors and watch the droid change. For them to see it, you must commit the change, and this uses a charge from the kit. Also, R units have a main color and a Trim color to change (2 charges). The Surgical also.

I do not know yet (of course) how long the change lasts, but both Kathlean and Brer have a custom color droid and should be able to tell us when it fades. I assume it has to do with how many times it is called.

Okay, you guys feeling good? Now for the bad news. Sorry, but you had to know deep down it was coming.

Not all droids maintain their colors after being stored the first time. Obviously it's a bug, and I guess we should be grateful that we can /bug *something* instead of nothing. I couldn't bug it in-game because the /bug tool was crashing the game. It's safe to say they will have this fixed before it goes Live. (please?)

I wasn't able to test all of them (refer to the first part), but I got most. What was happening was when I was done, the droid was stored, the called out again immedietaly and the color was gone (reverted back to the original). I had a beautiful R2 unit that looked just like the movie, stored it, called it, and it was back to red & gray. Special note: The protocal droid does not give any colorization options. We are stuck with Gold.

So here's the ones I was able to test that DID keep the color: Treadwell, DZ70, ProBot, LE, Surgical

Here are the ones I was able to test that did NOT keep the color: R2, R4, R5, MSE

I was not able to test: Power, R3, BLL

Also, no ADV droids tested, although I feel it is safe to assume the ADV version follows after the standard.

So, there it is. Thats what I tested. It leaves me thirsty for more! I hope I posted enough detail, but if not, sorry.

Oops, I forgot:

Also, the nerf/fix (whatever) of where you can call the droid is harsh. You MUST be in your declared residence, a tent, or a city. No more public houses or buildings (Pa Hall or friends house you have Admin on) I haven't tested all permutations of this, but it looks like droid batteries will finally start getting used. Scouts will also see a market develop for their camps.

Can we assume that since you can color ADV Droid chassis during crafting, that they will retain that color when tamed from their deed. And that you wont need to use that coloring tool until the original color fades.

I have full Customization skills and have access to all those colors you mentioned when crafting a chassis. I would expect those colors to stay put now when the droid is first tamed. Lets hope.

What are the exact requirements, resource-wise, for one of those coloring tools. And what are they called exactly.

Thanks for being on TC. You're hard work is appreciated.
