Thread: Random Droid Questions
Yes, they hold the most combat modules. Their damage is about 30 points lower than the probot but because they have higher hps they do better. (I did a mock battle between a probot and R3 and the R3 won every time)
2) Droids can not be destroyed forever, correct?
Correct, no permadeath. You can even bring them back into action using a repair kit.
3) Is there any way to repair a droids wounds without another droid?
4) How does a combat droid compare to a non-CH pet combat wise?
Generally they're better unless you're comparing the droid with a BE'd pet. The BE pets, last I've heard, have a lot more HAM than droids.
5) Is it possible for a non-CH to have a pet and a droid out at the same time?
No, you can't have both out at a time. This was supposed to change but didn't. I forget the details but it has to do with CL level.

Thanks, most of that was as I expected...
Now I have to decide whether to go for a single R3 droid with everything, or whether or not to get a Probot droid for some combat... Oh, and repair kits heal damage or wounds?
Repair kits heal damage.
1) Yes, they can. I have heard that an R3 will defeat a comprable Probot but in my own tests that did not seem to be the case. My personal feelings are that even if this is true the fight is so close as to not make the extra expense of the R3 worth it. That said I still sell a few from time to time to people who just want an R3 unit instead of a probot.
2) No, they can't be.
3) If you are a DE you can use a reconstruction kit. If you aren't your only options are to find a DE with a reconstruction kit or else someone with a droid with a repair module.
4) Haven't really tested this. From what I hear the BioEngineered pets are a bit stronger still at the upper end. However it sounds as though there might be a bump up in the combat abilities of droids in the next publish (originally the Devs were talking about nerfing down the BE pets a little but this seems to have replaced it)
5) Yes, as I understand it, but not the heavier combat droids. You can have 1 level 10 pet and 1 level 10 droid out at the same time I've been told. Unfortunately Probots were pushed up to level 13. This keeps you from pulling out a pet and a probot unless you happen to be a Creature Handler. I don't know the level on the LE Repair or the Astromechs but I suspect they are above 10 as well.
keep in mind, you don't need to have one bot for everything, you can have up to 5 specialized (or not) droids in your datapad, the only caveat is that you can only have one of those 5 out at a time. So you can have your crafting droid, and your combat droid, and don't have to sacrifice combat capabilities.

Oops sorry, forgot to answer that. Repair kits heal damage. Reconstruction kits can heal wounds.
Random droid answers:
1) You need metal and chemical to make an MSE droid, along with a module if you want it to do something other than sit there.
2) Droid customization fades after you pull the droid about twenty times.
3) The highest level medical unit is level 6. It will produce a droid with a medical capability rating of 110.
4) The fastest way to grind to MDE is by doing MSE's until you get 0-0-0-3, then do advanced droid chassis.
5)The r-series droids will change colors every time you use them if you don't apply a customization kit. There is much debate about whether this is a bug or a feature.
Ok, I hope my random answers helped..... ![]()
In case they didn't here are somenon-random answers to the questions you posted:
1) Yes, and I have no idea.
2) You can choose to destroy or "dismiss" a droid, but I think you meant do they have permadeth... and as far as I know the answer to that is no.
3) Yes, using the new repair kits included in publish 7.
4) According to the devs, the reason they are CL10 is so they will be equal to non-CH pets...
5) Not at this time.
Okay, few more questions:
1) Which parts of droids can be experimented on to improve them? Chassis? Modules? Armor?
2) Armor module level 6 is 40% to all resists, correct? Is there any reason for having 2 installed?
3) Do probots not need a combat module installed to fight?
