Thread: Vehicles are Droids

After reading some threads on vehicles here, Ive thought and come to this conclusion.

Vehicles are droids without a brain system.

Think about how vehicles compair to droids and Nothing else from any other artisan profession:

Vehicles have a propulsion system - so do droids.

Vehicles hover - so do some droids.

Vehicles require direction from a living brain - just like droids

Vehicles are not armor, a weapon, a house, clothing or food. They do not harvest resources.

Anakin Skywalker won the pod races with a racer he built. He is also a master droid engineer sinse he built C3P0.

It seems to me that the most logicalprofession forthese vehicles is the Droid engineerprofession. Leave the new professions for things like starships and fighters and such.

cheers...

Here is the deal, these Vehicles are basic vehicles...just like your basic harvester, basic gun, and basic armor, all of which arein the artisan tree. The same for some food and clothes. These are all the low end items of a new profession in the future. So yeah, I can understand why these vehicles are where they are and why they will lead into a mechanic or transportation engineer of some sort.

Lord only knows why preview ate my post there.

Anyway, as I meant to say, many artisans dabble in one or more Elite professions. Anakin could have easily had boxes in Droid Engineer and Vehicle Engineer. Nobody claimed he was a master at either.

Beyond this, think about real life. Being able to build a robot does not mean you know how to build a car. Both are based on some of the same principles of engineering, but ultimately the technologies diverge greatly.

This is similar to how in-game many technologies are taught at simple levels when you learn the Engineering branch, then are taken to advanced levels in Elite professions.

I feel adding vehicles to Droid Engineer would take too much focus off of the profession's specialty, and unbalance the profession as a whole with too many schematics.

well imo vehicles are advanced stuff, easy as that, has nothing to seek in a basic profession trees.

they should be in droid engineer, as cities are in archtitect and mounts in CH and not scout.

Well, if it aint in the DE-tree it should at least be in the Master Artisan box.

NOT Engineering IV... that's just stupid.

At least this ends the excessive cost of CH mounts. Everyone and his dog will be able to get a Vehicle.

BTW: I also think that no single profession should be able to manufacture vehicles, it should be a combination of skills/classes.

There will be a new profession for vehicles and possibly spaceships, until they have the artwork ready for those vehicles they can't do the new profession (who wants a profession that can only make three things).

Driod Engineers make droids, not vehicles.

You are right Ellwen.. I wrote a smililar thread but lol the DE's were too busy accepting DEVS explanations of why Artisan should get it.. I am sorry but the DE are screwed every which way and I highly doubt that even patches to come will help that much.. We might have a roger roger droid but dont expect anything almighty in the way of a droid like there was in the books.

Opinion: Vehicles

Master Artisan Components 60%

Droid Engineer 40%

That would be more accurate or else Artisans should be able to make our droid chasis for us..

Er, not really. No Elite profession requires a master box, and Vehicle Engineer will be no different. It just requires the fourth box in a branch, the same as other Elite professions.

Ummm...if memory serves BH requires both master scout and master marksman....I'm not sure about others.
