Thread: Fixing the Structure Modules

The structure maintanance modules was one of the best and most useful (non-combat) ideas to come out of the latest publish. However, it is frustrating to have it work, no... not work, add to a module, no... that didn't work. Call a droid that used to work that know gives me a blank state.

In my judgment, the devs really need to fix this and keep it fixed. I have already had to send a couple of g-mails to the effect of "if your droid doesn't work, don't panic." But this undermines the credibility the the Droid Engineer as a genuine alternative profession.

Just venting, but I think this should be a priority fix and I am baffled.

My understanding is that droids built with structure modules on Day 1 of the publish still work. Droids built after Day 1 and before the hotfix that put structure functionality back in will never work. Droids built after the hotfix will always work. Is this not the case?

It's not taking still in some chassis/module combos.

I have no problem putting one in a BLL, but I can't get one to work in an R3 (yet it seems other people can).

It's very odd - I think it may have to do with what other modules are in the cluster but I haven't spent a lot of time wasting R3 chassis to find out.

I could never get it to work in an R3. I farted around with it on several attempts and gave up. I then tried it in an R2 and it worked out. Don't put the maintanence modlue in a cluster. Try itin a R2's combat module socket, not the cluster, and see if it works.

After the first couple of day couple of days, when folks started saying things were working again, II tried putting the structure module in an R3 cluster, The crafted R3 gave no indication that the module was ever installed. I then put it in a standalone socket in a ADV Protocol Droid (which, when you think of it, is about the perfect use for a protocol droid makes them more than chatty decoration). That worked fine. Yesteday, I pulled it out of the old data pad and it just looked at me when I tried select Run Maint.or even Edit Maint. List.

I have started making these for freinds (thank the maker I haven't charged anyone yet) and it is getting embarrasing.

IMHO embarassing is not a strong enough word

Disgraceful is what it is..that one of the star modules didn't perform off planet, was 'fixed', and now is in such an unpredictable state nobody dare sell them. As to warning customers not to pick up a harvester before removing the entry from the droid..well you just know that aint going to be done..

I just wish the Devs would finish what they set out to do..and if I had done that fix I would be ...embarassed..very embarassed indeed. I'd fix it on my own time if I was the programmer concerned. Quality Assurance? Hmm

I did a run of a dozen adv MSE with 2 structure modules (a mistake it turns out) tried one myself and it worked perfectly, kept another for backup, and put 10 up for sale.

I've sold out - and no complaints - BUT my MSE's don't work at all Now. Yeah it's embarrassing!

I would have to say the same about my droids which have a maintance module installed... they just dont react at all.. And I had my hopes up, thinking that they finally would work

You would think they would test it before they actually introduced it into the live game...

The reason they stop working is because you don't take the structure off of the droid before destroying the structure.

You need to remove it from the droid FIRST, otherwise, they lock up.

I am fusterated with mine as well. I made a Level # one and placed it in a R-3 ADV for myself. I had 9 structures loaded in it's maintainence list. since I have pulled down 2 of those structures, though, I have not been able to get it to work again. I had it work 3 times when the original sturctures werre up. I have the battery power at 100%, and I can't add any new structures to the maintainence list. I can't access the list to force out any structures. Were these modules meant to be a one-time-use module?

I eventually gave up on mine at the weekend and destroyed it. I pulled another off my vendor and readied it, and it works fine. This is from exactly the same factory run as the non-functional one and I have had no complaints from customers.

I did however find myself hiding everytime someone came into my shop in case they started asking questions they wouldn't like the answers to, for a couple of days after the 'fix'.
