Gorantoth, I re-posted your droid issue list on the Correspondent board (Giving you full credit of course)because I knew it would be seen there easier and this is what the DE DEV had to say:

"That's a very impressive list and looks to be well managed as well... a difficult task for a dynamic thing. My kudos to all those involved"

He also went on to say that he will be going through your list and comparing it against his.

Just a quick update to let you know we ARE being heard. All of you helped with that list by posting on this board and holding discusions, etc. Keep up the fight! .. er .. good work !

When I hear more that I can tell you guys, I will post it.

And before I am asked .. no there is no ETA as of yet for any changes to our profession, but things are being ironed out. As soon as I have dates I can release I will.

Am I wrong... or didn't they say almost exactly this same thing about a month ago?

Yay, we actually heard from the DE/crafting Dev! That's better news than we have heard in a while.

Never meaning to sound cynical, but it would have been nice if they posted "Oh yeah, great list! Lets do something about it!"

At the very least though, it shows yet again that our good Sintrosi is on the ball with this. Good show with it Sintrosi

So Sintrosi, is it true that the DE developer is the same one that does all crafting professions, or are there several for the different crafting professions?

Okay... found the original post. On 8/22/2003 Holocron wrote:

"We realize you guys still need a lot of lovin’ on the profession just in terms of bugs to look at, and we’re using Gorantoth’s list as something to march down."

Now... 1 month later Sintrosi tells us:

"... this is what the DE DEV had to say. 'That's a very impressive list and looks to be well managed as well... a difficult task for a dynamic thing. My kudos to all those involved' He also went on to say that he will be going through your list and comparing it against his."

I don't know about you, but the response from the DE developer (assuming that's who it is) sure sounds like this is the first time he has seen this list. Either way you look at it, we have obviously received NO attention whatsoever over the past month regarding any of those issues.

Obviously (from my lack of posting over the past month) I have lost interest in Droid Engineering (like many of you), but for some strange reason I still find myself drawn to read this forum every so often (masochism?).

Anyways, it never ceases to amaze me how willing everyone here seems to be to accept the developers at their word and assume that they will indeed listen to their many many positive suggestions and/or complaints and fix the class accordingly. Probably because the alternative is... well, there is no alternative

It is quiteprobable this is the first time this developer has seen the particular thread. The quote you posted did not say who was reading the post, only that they were. In the software industry there are many many decision makers for one product. It is more than likely that the Droid Dev has what we call a Business Consultant in my company ... someone who filters information in and out to the developer so he doesnt have to get his hands dirty.

It would be my guess that the BC was the one who had the list in the past. These Devs at SOE have multiple hats to wear and as much as I hate to say it, you have to prioritize bugs and issues. I am not at liberty to say what other hats our DE dev wears but droids are not his only area of expertise.

We will not be fixed in a week, or even two. But we do have a direct line past the BC and to the developers now, and I am satisfied that they are reading and responding to us. To tell you thw truth, what is done is done .. we are broken .. nothing can change that short of a time travel trip. Now we have to take the steps to be fixed and become an awesome class. but it will nothappen over night. And I would rather it be done slowly and methodically, AND RIGHT .. than a quick "patch" and then a nerf later ...etc.

Ah well .. I am rambling.
