Any ray of hope has to be well received. Without hope, all is lost

Besides, they could say nothing. That's more frustrating to me, means they dont even acknowledge us as a community in SWG. If they lie to us at least I know they heard us in the first place...

As its been said before, we obviously are NOT the primary user group on their system. Why would they waste valuable (and finite) resources on fixing our issues until the Masses (CH's) are happy? All in all the DE "headcount" posts have resulted in approx 200 DE's responding ...thats just sad given 275,000 copies of the game were sold. there is less than 20 (probably more like 12) DE's per server cluster? anyway ...whatever.

Not every DE posts to the headcountlists. I don't. Add to that the fact that not every player reads the forums at all, and the 'headcount' becomes less and less representative of the actual number of DE players.

I agree with you there delta. .. but from my experience's in game I've see WAY more pokemon CH's running around than I ever see DE's. I search for DE's ever planet I travel to, alas our numbers are few. No denying that.

Sintrosi,

This is kind of bittersweet news to me...

On the one hand, I'm hearing nothing new. It seems like another stall tactic meant to placate us into staying 'tame'.

On the other hand, it's encouraging to hear that the list has been looked at and compared against the in-house list of issues.

While I realize that no specifics or timetable can be discussed, I have to say that I feel like we've gotten the cold shoulder............................again.

Can you find out....

Do they plan on fixing any items (no matter how small) in a new version in, say, the next week or two?

One issue? (if even a minor one?)

This would be a reason for us to have hope.

Right now...aside from the fact that you have the DE lead's 'ear', I hear no reason to rejoice over this new information. Just more of the same.

Make me a believer, please.

Sintrosi, thank you for keeping a level head about thiswhole thing. Getting things done right, instead of quickly, is the way to go. People want quick changes; quick changes usually end up breaking things worse. I, too, would rather see things done correctly.

Basically, keep up the good work!

For me this is a sign of good things to come. I'm certainly not satisfied with the current state of the DE profession, but in my opinion the only way to fix it is to work together with the Devs. While bitching and moaning (not that I have seen much of this from DEs, we are a disciplined bunch) helps sometimes to get of the frustation, I don't think It will help us in the long time.

Thanks to Gorantoth for his very good list, and to Sintrosi for keeping us informed.

Sintrosi,

And Gorantoth,

I am greatly appreciative of you work and how you can handle such a mammoth task of keeping up with this profession.

I see great flaws in most of the Artisan Professions in general. The economy is supposed to be set by what we create, yet the only thing that sells are houses and weapons. Everyone else has been selling creatures for pets, yet they don't see the disadvantage of the pet taking away XP. Droids when built have no real purpose, most droids can only look nice or be quasi vendors in some one's home. The economy still suffersd due to a lack of droid acceptablility. We need to question Why do I need a droid?

This is a question that lacks luster. I am not opposed to all of the fixes on the list, but even with all of our wish lists in place, face it, we will still be a useless profession.

For example, Master Artisan - Great now I get to make a Nemodian Bird Cage... Yippeeeeee. and a Creature Container - ALRIGHT (hear the sound of sarcasm in my typing)

Same thing with Droid Engineer, Oh - ok now I am Intermediate blue prints - ADV MSE droid with two modules - all I need now is to get all of the Crafting stations and I will have maybe a worth while droid - Thats it.

I love being a droid engineer, but recently turned my attention to mining resources for money and oh yea I can make a droid, I am not a master droid engineer so I can make Crap for a droid.

My whole issue with my professions is that I can make all kinds of neat things, but because I am not a Novice Architect or Novice Weaponsmith the use for my products is null. Try selling an Admin's Robe, why even waste the resources to make one.....

I am tired of grinding for XP, I want to know from the devs when I can turn off the Pratice button on my crafting and actually feel good about what I made.

I can't even sell Bounty Hunter Seeker droids.

Just a rant, but keep up the great job

My turn

Mythanks to Sin for posting this where our Dev took the time to see it, read it,and respond to it personally. I also have to again thank Tyim for starting "Tyim's big bad droid thread" back in beta, and for allowing me to take over the thread. And of course, my thanks to everyone who's contributed to the thread.

I still maintain it as a central location for DE's to note potential bugs and comment on them so that we can figure out the exact nature of each bug. The more we as a profession know aboutthe bugs we encounter, the easier it is for the Devs to actually fix them. The more we as a profession know about the profession itself, the easier it is for us to communicate our problems and issues and suggestions to the Devs.

While there will always be skeptics among us, I think that this is the best news we have heard so far. We're moving in the right direction, and with Sin pushing from our end, we'll be sure to keep moving.
