I made 60K in about 15 minutes. I went to the Rebel base on Rori to do some faction missions. I had my DE title up and a probot and I got a person within 1 minute of me gettng off the shuttle asking for a surgical bot. I didn't have any deeds on me, so I just traded him the one I had off my datapad for 10K. So then I got the idea of selling droids on demand. This may not be a new idea for most of you, but it was for me. I sat down, called my trusty LE Repair Droids with my personal W,D, and G crafter, and gave a shout that I was selling probots and surgical bots.I got so many tellsthat Ihad to start taking numbers! It was great! After about 1/2 hour I actually ran out of resources, since I didn't actually come for that.

I had been kind of depressed about DE's, since 1) I'm not a Master yet, and everyone seems to only want Master-level droids on my server, and 2) business at my shop and bazaar had been slow. Thus, I started doing faction missions. This really picked me up!

So, for you new DE's, there is a market for droids. Get out to where the players are, and the more desolate the location, the more business you'll probably do. Also, it seems there is a lack of DE's on Kettemoor, so that helps!

At the risk of shooting myself in the foot and giving away my trade secrets, pretty much all the droids I sell are DoD. I don't use shouts to attract customers but I still tend to sell a few droids per night just because I have my MDE tag up.

One thing that's worked really well for me, though it took a while to get set up, was to have crates of all base droid components (advanced frames, brains and advanced brains, droid sensor units, etc.) and the more commonly sold modules (Armor III, Medical VI, Food Crafting).

This has two advantages, first, by using a factory all my components have very good experimentation results. I don't have to remake a component because it got a critical failure. Secondly, if I have to assemble anything extra (personality chips, micro sensors, clothing crafting stations, etc.) I only have a two or three things that have to be built before final assembly. This cuts down my production time immensely.

Well that's just the thing... factories are F'd... I dunno about you guys but I'm all salted out.

Factories are pretty borked up but not totally unusable; at least not for me.

I set my schematics to produce 99 copies then typically put in enough resources to run off 25 copies (since I don't want to carry around more than a single crate). If it chokes at the very start of the run I empty it all out, swap the current schematic with a 'bad' schematic (I usually build 3-4 schematics before a run so I can use the best one, leaving me with extra schematics I wouldn't normally use), redeed the factory and drop it back down. It runs me an extra 2500cr to do that (which is now suspended they say since factories are all messed up) which really is not that much in relation to what I can make selling droids.

I've never had a factory completely choke in the middle of a run. I did have one halt and had to kick it to go again, but it then worked until the entire run was completed.

WOW!!! You mean you got Novice Droid Engineer... attained all the skills boxes necessary for Probots (including of course Master Artisan) ... you got ALL the resources required to make these droids (or got all the credits needed to buy them) all in just 15 minutes?!?!

You are definitely my hero!

* Sorry... but the only way you could say something like this is if you ran Artisan Missions or something which any noob can do and got that much money in that much time. Otherwise... you are putting absolutely NO value on all your efforts to attain your capabilities.

What a bitter person you are Jabetha...I posted this message because I had some fun, interacted with some nice people, and actually enjoyed myself in the game...and wanted to share my positive experience with some fellow DE's. All in good spirit. Don't smart off on my post and me because you didn't get what you wanted out of either the game or being a DE. Go sulk in your own post! I wasn't showing off with this post...I was trying to show something positive.

Yeah, you know, I actually keep my Master Artisan tag on most of the time rather than my NDE tag, because to be honest, while I was running around doing delivery missions to keep my harvesters running, I kept getting tells out of the blue for droids I had neither the resources nor the skill to build. I sell some droids out of my shop, but not at nearly the rate of requests I get just by leaving my tag on. Probably when I hit Master and I'm not spending my time getting gi-farking-normous amounts of single resource types just to get XP I'll turn my tag back on.

Actually, I think Jabetha had a very good point. As far as the way he stated it, I don't find much wrong with it. People need to learn to take some criticism without pouting and crying for their mothers. The world is full of differing opinions and there is no right to freedom from being offended.

No reason to give so much crap to this guy. He was actually posting a meaningful post in spite of all the negativity about being a DE.

Next time you have something like that to say, go sit and spin on your probot.

No, he's right. The guy did completely neglect to take into account the hundreds of thousands of credits worth of materials he pissed through to get where he's at. Now he is simply 60K less in the hole than we was the previous day. As far as your attack on him, you are entiteled to your hostile opinion just as much as he is. You are no better than anyone else.
