Thread: Droid prices vs Something Worthwhile to do
I've noticed inflation really seems to have kicked into high gear over the last month or so. It kind of coincided with the 6k bazaar limit, but that's more of a symptom than the problem. The problem is that there's simply way too many credits in circulation, hence people are willing to pay much higher prices than would have been considered reasonable a few months back.
If certain product prices do not increase with inflation, it means the product has marginal value or is an easily produced commodiy. If a certain profession's ability to generate credits does not keep pace with inflation, it does not bode well for the future viability of the profession, as experienced players will move on quicker, and too few new players will step up to take their place.
I think it does not bode well for the profession, especially since nothing we produce is essential.
Anyhow, it was just meant to be a heads up so some people who thing time is well spent for silly credits per minute, relatively speaking.

And what, do you 'imagine' this 'more stuff' will be?
Right now, I won't say. That doesn't mean I'm not sure or confused, it means that I haven't been released to say anything other than what's posted for P8 (since plans can/do change).
I'm gonna ask you this cos I really want to know - how old are you in RL?
How old do you think I am?
I'll just say....30s. That should be good enough. (Of course, for those with nimble fingers, my birthday is in my profile).
Respectfully,
(And lastly, just incase anyone gets any other idea, disagreeing with me does not mean I loose any kind of respect for the person in question. Sarcasm on my part is just... me whenever I'm not trying help someone, and sometimes then aswell. But until they drop the discussion to the cursing level, I'll still respect the part on the other side.)
PS. Board gremlins tried to eat the post.
I hate this software. DS.
Their not the best, even if an Adv R5 combat droid seem more effective then a probot, and I need the credit to pay the bills.

First of, I'm sure you'll be happy to know I'm going to reorganize my entire shop, move it a few 100m, and in the process work over the prices to fit inline with what I've seen elsewhere. At 25K per R3, I still don't sell as many as I want to, so I'll have to figure out some other tactic (Like being well-stocked by the time I get a barker module. I will not spam a starport, but a droid could....). It'll still be lower than most, but thanks to your interest in my personal economical wellbeing, I'm sure you'll be overjoyed.
That being said;
If I wanted to kill Nuna's, I would've gone with my originial bounty-hunter plan.
If I wanted to make money, I would've gone WS or AS.
So I don't want to kill nuna's, nor make absurd amounts of money. Sure, I'll gladly make some money, but I did not become a DE because I feel imaginery credit value is what I really want. I play the game for fun, and my fun means droids. I'm not looking to get paid a set amount of credits for my fun, credits remain an interesting side-product, a way for me to count the points I have in the game I play with myself. Lots of points; better scores, but if the scores don't come with the fun...
Thirdly, one of the good things with the avian meat you described is that it has stats that matters. The product the crafter will use it in will be sold. For enough to cover that. Or maybe used, if he's a CM. Something we lack. Because droids, are not fundamental, overly useful, nor generally relying on the experimentation.
In short, I'm not taking money making comparision made towards professions that actually has an economic function. You can't compare how a horse with four legs runs to a the gait of a three-legged... (You can try, but I'll just refer back to what I said about making money).
And I don't think you ever answered when I asked how much lower than "everyone else" I'd have to have my prices to still get traffic to my shop, but I'm still interested in knowing.

Well good that you dont want to kill Nunas, what professional would? It'i still an interesting note in galaxy economics.Dead nunas being worth more than a handcrafted droid I mean. Anyway it was meant as a light hearted comment.
Now my Mummy always told me never to say I played "with myself", it creates the wrong impression, so I take it you mean a game you played BY yourself..ahh well enough nit-picking eh ![]()
Now, cutting all the verbiage out, what you say about being useful is key. Because Droids are not fundemantally or overly useful, unlike the wares of other crafting professions, we actually do not have a true market value. Nor are we ever likely to the way things are going.
So then you ask me, how much lower than everyone else you haveto go to get traffic to your shop? Well the simple answer is no lower. Why discount if A. you are not in it for cash and B. you enjoy making the beasties? It's not exactly a full server is itCaix? It's not like MDE's are overflowing. I see no need to undercut one another, but as I said before its up to you, I really dont mind. I will still sell anyway, and you might sell more, and who really cares? Cutting prices to get market share is only justified in a saturated market, and we both know that isn't the case.
So, If you have a God may he bless your enterprise, and if you don't ..well the Devil is always waiting ![]()
I like sarcasm as well as the next Brit..but sometimes it's lost on our cousins across the pond.
I also hate these boards with a passion

While this might be true, that would be a situation where fewer number of leftover DEs on a server simply see an increase in business to handle the overflow of demand. There's always someone looking to fill a void for a product that ends up getting more demand (due to lack of supply).
Respectfully,
And where do you see this demand coming from in the next few months?
