If you get tapes/clothing that give you +20 more to experimentation, then you gain 2 more experimenation points

Oh, you mean the regular tapes? the profession specific as. & exp. tapes?
I dont think that having +25 is as effective as having +20, you just get no more points but the bonus in the chance of having amazing as. & exp. ...not much but still a difference i would guess

It was told to me a while ago that no skill stat (artisan, combat or otherwise) can benefit beyond +20 using clothing/armor/racial bonuses. FS bonuses are a class of their own, I believe, but I don't know enough about that to say anything about it.
Its difficult to be 100% sure about any of this, since devs don't exactly post concrete data about it.
FS are a bonus to the "rolls" that are made to see if and how well we succed atan experimentation or assembly. You can benefit from the extra +5 on at +25 item. You just need to have a +15 bonus to see the effect. Basically, a human Artisan is the only way that extra +5 will ever hep you since humans get +15 to Artisan Exp. as a Racial Bonus.

Ah, ok. So what you're saying is the Artisan Experimentation skill enhancement is capped at +25 (like all the other skills), but the +15 human racial bonus is the only way to bump that up past +25, effectively making a human a 14 point Artisan experimenter (25+15). That does make sense. So what I understood was almost correct.

Yup, now you've got it. Odd foot note is that most people don't really consider Artisan Exp. too be all that great. Normally, you can get the tapes for reasonable amounts of credits.
