Thread: What's the best stat to experiment on a probot now?

I have been hording for a week building parts to make probots, but what do I experiment now with the new patdh? Durability, Effectiveness (as usual) or Quality? Since you can't tell from looking at a deed, it is impossible to tell.

What increases damage, what increases speed, and what increases HAM ? I am not sure if we ever got an answer to this.

Effectiveness is the only one so far that has shown to have any effect on the end product.

The subcomponents still do not matter in the construction of any droid. The only thing that currently matters in the construction of a droid is the Overall Quality of resources in the final crafting step and experimentation on the Effectiveness. This is the very best that can be made, as per the testing on TC and confirmedon Live.

HAM 828100% Exerimentation Effectiveness
Speed 2.4
To Hit 0.22
Damage 70 - 80 (72 - 88)

I got a 98% today that was almost exactly that. But I've not done any combat tests yet.

I guess older probots didn't get the update then? My old one still shows as 50-60 damage (or whatever ridiculously low amount it normally was).

I hate to destroy them for the new models. I have one that talks still.

The mechanical rating of crafting modules, according to TH, do have an effect on reducing critical failures when crafting while using these droids. I've also found that experimentation does increase the capabilities of the lower modules. It might also be true that the mechanical ratings of the other components may have an effect on the final droid by some means that may not be immediately visible. I wouldn't be so quick anymore to say that subcomponents do not matter.

As we've seen in the past, changes to stats like this are only seen in newly crafted droids.

In short, this gives you a better chance to resist critical failures. It works like Quality Modifiers on Crafting tools

Since Thunderheart is an admitted non-crafter, a lot of the answers that he gave were not what some people believe them to be. After re-reading the the post several times, I have really noticed that the knowledge that TH has about crafting is moderate at best. Many of the questions that were asked, and the answers that were given, were not very clear.

The way that the question was worded and the way that TH answered it are not a clear answer. To me, this actually reads as if Thunderheart has confused the Mechanism rating of a Droid crafing station, with the Function Rating of a Private crafting station, because of the comment made in the last sentence.

I made a basic probot today and the ham still defaulted to 810 when tamed. The effectiveness was experimented to around 90%. I havent tested an adv probot yet, which can get to 99% on our server.

On another basic probot, I experimented the quality and the damage was still 60-80 when tamed.

The HAM will always be the default 810 or 820, until the caps are removed. The numbers that I have been reporting are for an Advanced Probot and not the basic model.

Only the Experimented Effectiveness will result in any difference in Probot stats. There should be two damage listings on every Probot; the base damage and the modified damage. Only when the Modified damage hits 70 or above will the base damage listing be above 60.

About crafting stations...

As far as I can tell, I bet less critical fails and more amazing successes when I am near my 3PO-crafting droid which has 10 mech quality then I do when I stand near my stationary station with an effectiveness of 24.something.

It's all in my head?
It's actually working?
The gnomes did it?

Heck, I don't know.

All I'm saying is that you shouldn't be so quick to say that the components have no effect. It isn't a known fact either way. Since we've gone from 5 experimentation points to 10 experimentation points, I've noticed fewer failures on my crafting attempts. Is it because I've been lucky? Is it because I've been around long enough to havecollectedbetter resources? Is it because the components are better due to experimentation? Beats the heck out of me. But I am seeing a difference and it might be related.

Those are terribly smallsets to come to the conclusion that there is no effect from components. I understand that larger test sets can be prohibitive. But you are right, I had neglected to consider the other skill increases when considering the increase in successes. However, I still see no concrete evidence to say that there is no effect from components in this regard.
