Thread: New correspondent discussion
Decided to make an official thread so you all can discuss who would make a great correspondent after I leave. I suggested Drashk and Gorantoth initially but there are MANY other fine choices. Although we dont make the final decision I think this thread will help Thunderheart immensly.
If you want the job dont be shy
If you dont show interest you probably dont have a chance.
I can think of several that have really done a lot for the DE community. But I'll leave it to them to nominate themselves.
In the meantime, I'll throw my hat in. I know I don't post as much as others. That's because I'm listening.
Come on people, if you want to help the DE community, offer it!
I'd like to see TK, Woody, Drashk, Kollos, Rho, Audio, Gorantoth(just to name a few), stand up and say "Yes, I'd like to help."
I'll be happy to nominate myself! I'm a longstanding droid engineer of several months now. I've recently been extrordinarily successful in pulling together and helping out every Droid Engineer on Ahazi, and am even now starting to extend that ability to every server. I check the boards regularly, keep myself informed, and am fairly decent with information. Lastly, I believe in the power of the masses, and that the official spokesperson should represent the peoples' voice regardless of whether it conflicts with his views or not. I've already made it my business to serve the wellbeing of Droid Engineers on Ahazi at the expense of myself, so this would be little different than what I'm doing now.
I'm also an amazingly good looking Mon Calamari who likes candlelight suppers and moonlit walks on the beach...

Didn't want to speak for ye man, but glad to see you in the running. Only concern I have is who is gonna run the DEnet if you decide to spend all your time on TC?
Maybe you could talk Doughbacca into it.
Hahahahaahahahaaa!!! Ok, now this debate is getting interesting.

I have already made my interest in the position of Correspondent known to Thunderheart and Sintrosi, but I will now let everyone else know as well. Since the day that I started down the path of becoming a Droid Engineer, I have spent countless hours exploring the profession and looking into every nook and cranny, trying to find out what makes each droid tick. Now that I have walked the path a second time, as a Master Droid Engineer on Test Center, I feel that I have become quite knowledgeable about the profession and how it works, or in some cases does not.
I have slowly walked away from the Live Servers and now have a full time toon on Test Center, that is becoming a fullfledged memeber of that community. I have helped to track down a few already known issues, while helping others in the TC community, and have stumbled upon a few 'new' issues in our profession. Each time that I find an issue that has not been addressed in a recent patch, I submit a /bug report and list its description on the current TC bug page. I have spent a lot of time on TC and my previous server, Shadowfire, not only educating Droid Engineers about the profession, but potential droid owners as well.
I could list many reasons that I feel confident that I would make a suffcient Correspondent, and voice for the community as a whole, but I think that many of my previous posts on this forum speak much more clearly that I have aninterest in helping the community in any capacity that is made available to me.
I just wanted to show my support for both Gorantoth and TheWoody. Both havevolunteereda huge amount of time for our Profession. If I had to chose one person, based on the overall contributions to our profession, Gorantoth has my vote hands down, in the interest of the entire DE community.
It was a coincidence that Woodrow noticed me on the day I became a master DE and invited me to join the DENet. I'm really glad he did!! I don't feel like I'm a lone droid engineer struggling to figure out what's going on in the profession. I'm amazed at the group he's pulled together. Considering that DEs share a love of crafting and making droids we're a pretty mixed group, but Woodrow's handled us all fantastically. I can't imagine a better person to be the new correspondent. He'd put his heart and soul into it.
