Thread: Critical Fails?

Funny thing happened to me, and by funny I mean extremely frusteratating. I have 3 orders I have to fill which includes 3 probots and 1 surgical. I only have 3 microsensors left. So I start crafting all of the componets or getting hte factory crates. I make the first 2 probots fine, but then I critical fail the final assembly. So then I have to track down a master artisian to make me a few Micro Sensors because my factory is borked.

Then I start making my surgical droid. They guy orders it with 1 of every level 4 module. I critical fail the cluster module assembly THREE TIMES. Man I was pissed. I finally make the cluster alright and THEN I FAIL THE *explicative x 10* FINALY ASSEMBLY.

I'm using tools with 6.60 effectivness and my station is 13.5. Question is that is anyone else having this problem? I've lost so many resources to this its incredible. Just the other day I crit failed a Binary frame for a customer. 5 days ago I lost 2 probots when I needed to make 3.

On a side note, Just as I was stressed from this I get 2 tells at the same time from people who lost probots.. One of them put valuables in the item storage. I was this close [ ] to dropping my DE tree.

Crits just suck.

I find that to be a DE you might as well be a Master Artisian too. Because it just sucks trying to find Master Artisians who will actually do anything.

I could swear that the crit levels have increased. Or may it just seems like there's more because they seem to come in clumps. I was doing a little grinding and some normal crafting this weekend and I crit 3 in a row 4 or 5 times.

wow I was having the same problem redid my crafting tools and it seemed like the amount went down, however my ratings were less than yours so maybe I just lucked out. I made a order of 40 adv probots only three crit fails on final assembly, I lucked out big time.

Same here.

I spent 1500 on a good weapon/droid/item crafting tool. Best I could find.

My fails were rediculous! I bought another with not so good stats. Same thing.

Then I sold them and made myself a tool with no experimentation, and my fails have went down.

Overall they still seem a little higher. Maybe it is a combination of code change and effections of how good the tool is?

Same here. I failed on 2 final constructions when i was building 8 bots last night. Thats much higher than normal.

Yeah, I was noticing a very dramatic increase in critical failure rates while crafting things yesterday, maybe as much as 10% of all combine attempts, which is outrageously high, and very frustrating when I crit fail two Micro Sensor Suites in a row, losing all the subcombines in the process.

Just gotta chime in with a similar situation - they musta beefed up the crit failures recently whether trying to or not. So now it's a steeper climb to Master DE and harder to make droids along the way...

Don't use cheap materials.. better quality materials used the less crits..

Ya, I failed making 3 (YES 3!!!) Probots in a row. Do you know howhard large sums ofextrusive ore is to come by? I used all resources at 600 overall quality other than the gas which was 400 somthing. It makes me real mad since I used to NEVER have this problem.

um no i don't please tell me.. oh wise great sage. (Ivce been out of extrusive ore for 3 days now)

600 OQ caulity is still crap. how about coductivity too.. OQ isn't the only thing..

Also get a better crafting station.. I use a +34 effectivness at home

and sometimes the pseodu random number rolls low alot in a row.. my guess is they don't have a different seed for each person but all share the same seed which gets updated for each and every call so its not nessicaly statisicly accurate.. it becomes more truelly random.

I have off days and i have on days.. over time it balances out.. but my off days occur more when i'm using utter crap for reasources.

A probot uses 110 extrusive ore. This is "a lot"? This is "expensive"?

Two things that I see droid engineers doing that really reduce their profits and effectiveness are:

1. Not being a Master Artisan. How do you manage to make any number of droids if you have to go begging to some other Master Artisan to make those electronics components for you?

2. Not harvesting their own resources. With ALL costs included, my resources cost me about 0.6 credits each. This means that 110 extrusive ore would cost me 66 credits. Nothing to seriously get upset about. And, I've failed on a lot of final assemblies. It comes with the job.

How do I manage 0.6 credits per resource? I use fusion generators for power. I use mediums to harvest. If I find a very high concentration of somethign nice, I'll pile my harvesters onto that for a week. I found a resource this shift which I've needed for ages (I won't mention what it is or where I found it). But, suffice it to say that after this week, my mediums and its 86% contentration mean I'll have a lifetime supply of it.

Is it worth the time each week/shift to hunt down resources? Absolutely. It's the difference between paying 0.6cr per unit and 3-4cr per unit.
