I use 14.49 effective tools, and 30+ effective crafting station. I rarely have critical failures and noticed a jump in level of successful experimentation when I switched to the better equipment.

I /bug'd it the other day when I ran a testand got3 crit failures and 17 experimentation failures making 10 Droid Storage Compartments. I ran the test 3 times (made 30 compartments) all using practice mode and consistantly got 3 crit failures per ten combinations and an average of 17 experimentation failures.

My kits (whichI have manyoffor sale) are+9.90 and my crafting station is over +13. I am also a masterartisan, soreally, there is no reason why I should be failing so often and so consistantly.

Also, my architect friend noticed that his failure rate has increased too.

.>Don't use cheap materials.. better quality materials used the less crits..

The qulity of materals has nothing to do with this. that only effects the starting points before expermentation andhow far up expermentation can take it. THe quality of tools and stations can effect it. But when it says the amount of points you put into it have 0% chance of failing, then there should NOT be a failure. for teh record, My tools are all 94% quality including my stations. I made the stations with all the optional parts and again of 93-94% quality cept for teh Micro sensors which where only 86%. That not because of the parts, they where 93-94% also, but because it only looks at the resources in final construction. To test I made a sensor with parts in the low 20% range and used the same resources for the final. and still got 86%. MY stations, even though the quality is 94% have a rating of 39. Before sunday I got criticals dispite it saying 0% chance, but starting sunday I was getting criticals during expermentations on nearly every part. I tried for 2 hours, trying to make one of my high quality stations and when I finally got all the parts made, I had a crit putting it together. That;s not to say I didn't have them on first stage asy of sub parts. I tried again latter for another hour to make stuff before giving up.

they need to send those half witt programers back to school. 0% chance means ****NO**** CHANCE of failure!!! Crits where just another realy brain dead stupid idea. The archs complained and they made a half assed stab at removing them from asymbly stage. You still get the critical, but it dosn't clear the slots and you can't re-try. you have back up and start over. But yesterday crits went to insane levels. I tried for 2 hours to make a good crafting station. I am a Master artisan and have 1 full bar plus a couple blocks in arch, and 3/4 of a bar in DE. i gave up because if critcials during expermentation runing every damned part I made. when I finaily got all the parts made and of good quality, i got a damned crit puting it together. Went out and did my harevstor rounds, came back and tried for another 30 minutes before giving up. Basicly, I can no longer craft anthing but worthless **edit**. I have 95% quality tools, 94% station with their rating of 39. I can fill a bar with points and still show 0 chance to fail because i have hhigh skils and good tools. Yet I still get these **edit** crits. It should be IMPOSSIBLE. First grade math teaches what zero is. I was using the best materials I could get together and trying to sell good stuff. Yes i put up stuff that had lower quality but at a lower price. Quality of GP module has little effect on a tourche.

The stupidity level of the devs and programers on this game is only surpased by MS and i think MS is fast loosing ground.

I agree with GrinimNine. I use 0 rating tools and a 14 rating Crafting station, and I rarely critical fail (regardless of resource quality) while receiving great/amazing success almost always. -11 tools and a -15 crafting station gave me lots of great/moderate success and critical failures, whereas the better equipment and station really do make a difference. I think it's working, and any discrepancies are due to plain bad luck and the 'there are more criticals stealth nerf' thing that happened.

I'd say with a 0 tool and 0 station you'd be just fine, might take a few moretries before you makethe amazing schematic that GrinimNine makes easier, but it's a good tradeoff.

It's not your imagination. I had to restock 28 seeker droids on my vendors yesterday. Of the first 28 attempts I crit failed the final product 7 times exactly. That's 25% failure rate on the final product? Not to mention that I was failing the components an equal amount of times, I lost a ton of resources to this crap.

Considering I'm a master Artisan, you'd think I wouldn't be failing MA components like that.

And since I just picked up refinement, I also noticed I don't have the extra experimentation points. The mod shows +6 now, but I still only have 1.

I believe the way it works is every 10 skill points = 1 experimentation point.

Day 1: I made about 10 - 15 probots,R2's etc... not a single critical failure.

Day 2: Fairly the same as Day 1 with a few critical failures on level 5 couplers.

Day 3 I made another 15 - 20 droids and lost 1 in every 3 I made including parts.

Day 4 Same as Day 3

Nothing has changed since... still critical failing a lot.

There was a nerf. I have been crafting solely every day in the DE profession since game released. A week or so ago after a patch... something happened. I don't know what they did but something has changed. I find it hard to believe I can fail level 5 couplers 2 ina row with 95% quality ingredients, 14.89 effectiveness crafting tools and 30% private stations. I mean come on... its a level 5 coupler. And how come when we experiment on it... I either get a great success, amazing success... or a critical failure. What happened to a mediocre failure... even just a standard failure... I'm either amazing or I totally suck? It seems to me, if a level 5 item can critical as much as it does... a level 40 item should be **edit** near impossible.... cept I critical less on the level 40 items... This isn't right... this makes like no pattern sense. I could understand the randomness of it, but shouldn't the success difference between a level 5 part and a level 40 droid be noticeable?

We have a disease called Bi-polar crafting disorder, one minute your an amazing engineer the next minute you are a complete failure. I really lucked out when I put together an order of 40 adv probots and only had 3 final-ass-crit-fails. my hands were shaking so bad I could barely hold a crafting tool. Thank good that was the last of my ext ore, and a day later the resource shift left me without any.

I think the whole failure/expermentation system is stupid. If you put in the work to get the good materials and high skils, and buy/make the best tools and equipment you can, then you should be able to make stuff at max quality 100% of the time. you don't see a master crafter of anything in the real world tossing 90% of what they make because of some "failure" of some part along the way. What they make is better plan and simple.

Even if they leave the Crit Fail level where it is they should a tleast return some of the componets used not everything is scrap!!!

it should also happen when a droid Dies we should be able to salvage some of the parts. I gusses Watoo's junkyard only had new items avaialbe?

I think some people are confused, I'm refering to the actually assembly, not the experimenting.

There should not be crits in ether stage.
