Thread: Macro Problem, anyone help?
I've got two issues with the macro listed by the DE correspondent.
1. No matter what I seem to do I always get the message "Crafting Session Has Ended!" I get no exp, as if I'm right the crafting process never works. This happens right as the "/createPrototype practice noitem" command is executed. And I just dont know what to do to fix this.
2. The second issue is with the macro and adding recs to the product. Do I have to be there to add the recs, or is this something I can leave alone and it will work?
change the lines to
/createPrototype practice no items;
/createPrototype practice no items;
That should fix it
Ah.... the "Crafting Session Has Ended!" bug.

Gentlemen, this is not specifically related to a Macro, Droid Engineering, or anything of that sort. I have experienced this bug while churning out muzzles for a lowbie friend without the use of a macro. Also, my other friend has reported this bug while grinding on 4 GCW's to get to Master Artisan, without the use of a macro. I even submitted a ticket on this (since it was stealing resources and not giving xp) and the customer response was the typical "we're aware of this and the fix will be coming soon" song and dance.
This is a crafting bug. It has nothing to do with macros, SOE claims they're aware of it, and I can reproduce it rather easily (just try churning out 20 muzzles as fast as you can on 4 toold, you'll get the error message also).
The way my macro is set up, it gives me the Crafting has Ended message anyway.. But I still get the exp. I'll get the messageright after I put in my resources (which yes, you have to put in manually). It'll close everything up and you wont see the last screens after the resource screen, but I'll still get the experience.
As for the "/createPrototype practice noitems" thing, I dont have an S at the end of noitem and I get the exp just fine. Heck, I'm glad it ends the crafting session. Less screens to watch. =)
But yeah, it sounds like your macro is set up the same way as mine.. Maybe you can type up the macro exactly how you have it so we (or I, hehe) can take a look at it.

heres a step by step.
first the macro is run, it opens up the crafting tool, selects the schematic...so thats all good. I then double click the recs to add them into the item. The nextcraftingstage is called, which doesnt appear to do anything at all, the tool is still in the add recs box. I call the /createprototype practice no items, and the crafting seems to crash and say "The crafting session has ended", I get no exp, the recs are gone, and not sure what to do about it.

I'm still learning how macros work in this game, but I have some debugging skills. Here is a suggestion:
temporarily modify the macro to create the item rather than to run in practice mode and find out if the item is even being created at all.
Also, are the resources actually being consumed?
Those are two important things to know.
Ok.. I dont know if this would be the issue, but if you dont have "/createPrototype practice no item" typed in exactly like that, it probably wont work. The SWG macro system is very picky about having certain letters be capital while in some commands it doesnt matter at all.. So yeah. maybe that's it, maybe its not.
But if you still have problems, put up the exact macro (spaces, capital letters, and all) and I can compare it to my own. Mine gets exp, so I KNOW it works. We just need to figure out where its broken. =)
