I've watched my "Average rating given" go from5-stars to 3-stars in the scope of about 36 hours.

That's one heck of a lot of 1-starring.

I'm not sure how calling on the folk that frequent the DE boards to try to be positive/constructive and upbeat garnered such animous in my direction...I am only wanting to see the forums be a fun/positive place again.

sheesh...what did I do?!?

I never thought I'd see it happen but I appear to have become something of a pariah lately just by asking everyone to be nice. Sheesh.

lol, welcome to the club. I haven't been popular on the boards for quite a while now. I think the only thing that keeps my rating at 3 stars is some of my posts on the server forums...

Anyway, don't let it get to you, I think you're on the right path.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. It's hard to go out on a limb and call for calm in the middle of so many screaming voices (and I used to be among the biggest 'screamers' too). I'm sure that turnaround is part of what led to this.

I can only say that I used to enjoy the DE boards a ton when they were upbeat and positive. Ironically, we had kind of no chance for Dev attention early on when that was the case. Maybe we should have the Devs ignore us again so we can return to our past glory.

(Just joking, folks....they are reading our boards. By way of example, look how long my post was up before JustG replied.)

I hope that's not true, Pluto.

I'd like to think that us DEs can rise above the CH hate that's been so pervasive since launch. You all are in a MUCH different place now than you were since launch.

Anyway...thanks for helping to lift this board up to a higher place. We DEs and CHs need to find a way to have some kind of reconciliation or something...

From what I've seen, 1-starring on these forums can mean a few different things:

You ticked someone off, and they retaliate by 1-starring your posts.

The points made in your post are right on, but maybe not "popular opinion". (IMO, this is the case here)

You're simpy the victim of the immature "1-star Bandit" who 1-stars people, just because they can.

Don't let it get you down, TK, what you're doing here is a good thing.

Do sweat the stars man. You stepped out of the crowd to lead, folks will always toss a stone or two.

Heck some folks even one-star the FAQs. hehe stars have some merit for detecting commuinty tone, but they are not a good measure of the poster in the big picture. Anyone that is brave enough to speak thier mind on a controversial issue is gonna hit avg at some point, can't please all the people....

/salute for what your standing for TK, from an outsider that stays very interested in DE issues.
