Can a DE on the Test Center please post some pictures and their experience with these new commando protocol droids? What are the HAM's and combat statistics? Can they use PSG's? Do you need to give them a weapon? Do we need to rely on another profession for parts?

Thanks in advanced,

A WHAT?!?!?

I swear, the more they change Star Wars the more I get closer to cancelling my account. Devs, STICK WITH THE STAR WARS UNIVERSE. If they want to make these types of Droids, how about working on Droidekas or Assassin Droids. Commando 3P0's?!?!? About as ridiculous as having Creature Handlers in Star Wars.

They aren't on TC yet. Most likely sometime after next week when vehicles go live.

And I am sure that some little kid with action figures had his little R2-D2 blow up Darth Vader...

There are no combat Protocol droids in development or on Test Center.

If you are refering to the patch notes that state:

* Added protocol droid combat animations

That is what it says, its "combat animations." Previously a Protocol droid would just stand there motionless if getting attacked. Now it will animate as if its getting attacked. Thats the only addition.

If what you're refering to is TH's mention of Protocol-like combat droids, he was not specifically refering to Protocol droids themselves, but rather the droids that share a similar humanoid style chassis such as the assassin droids or the soldier droids from Ep1.

Hehe and let's remember that even tho TH might have called for new combat droids he called "protocol", remember he recently called the R3 (and I quote): "Btw, have you seen the clear domed R2 units? Very cool!" so he may not exactly know the specific name of the new droids, like IG-88 or 4-LOM, but since they look like protocols he called them protocols.

Either way if we get the attention we have needed, it has to be good right?

OK, some one has to coordinate storylines and games at Lucas Arts. I'm playing Knights of the Old Republic, and it has all kinds of droids. One is even playable NPC with flame throwers, shields, and can carry various blasters. Further, itis the best computer, security slicer, and repairer in the game. AND, it seems to be the basis for the R-type droids. Plus, there are all kinds of protocol droids and various security/patrol droids. The real kicker is that it's supposed to take place 4000 YEARS before where SWG! I guess the old DE's forgot to write notes.

Protocol droid carrying around a shotgun, and hides it... well still illegal, but less visible...

With 45 HAM; useless. Not sure how needed these animations are. Even noobie mobs hit for 50+. Protocols only had 45 HAM. One hit and they're down.

Jaq

I have read other posts and they say that the emipire outlawed most combat droids. But there were some hold backs, IG-88 and such. SO although they could be made they were seen as illegal. Which actually makes sense for SWG, since we don't see any

Nope, there WAS a protocol droid bounty hunter named 4-LOM in "The Empire Strikes Back". He had the very same body as C-3PO, except his head unit had large bulbous eyes, like an insect.

At least he called them Protocol droids. Occasionally I get a request for "one of those C3PO droids" and I say, "what modules would you like for your protocol droid?" And then they say, "What's a protocol droid?"
