Thread: DE Plan CONCERN Thread
Ok, since the DE Plan thread is going to explode in size and I dont want to sift through 30+ posts on Monday to get your concerns, please post ONE OR TWO SENTENCES per concern about what the plan says.
PLEASE no discussion about the plan here, just post your concerns and keep it short so I can compile a list from this thread and get them answered. Questions will work as well, assumming they are short.
Some of the ones I saw:
- Combat modules are fine, but if they go in a probot with 840 HAM they will be useless. Will we get new models or at least when a combat module goes in will it significantly buff the droid?
- Medical Droids healing? Wont this step on medical types? (I would say no because chances are the droid will only use lower stims and even then only occasionally heal)
Anyhow, post in that format. Thank y ou all.
Also of note. These things in the plan are a completely different category than bug fixes and fixing what is already wrong with us. Just because they give us MSE bombs doesnt mean they wont fix things in Gorantoth's compiled list first.
They merely want tolet us know we are being heard, they are trying to make us more viable, and they have to start somewhere.
- Need more than 1 viable combat chassis (DZ70 doesnt count)
- Would like confirmation that a power droid attached to a building and one set in "display" mode wont count against the amount of droids you can have out at a time limit

I really saw no mention of anything balance-related. They mentioned combat modules, but did not say whether or not our droids' combat abilities would actually be increased by these modules. What if these modules just give other droids the same ability as a Probot? How would that be any good?
I saw no mention of combat droid chassis. Does everyone really want MSE and R4 droids running around shooting everything? I hate the fact that a droid's chassis doesn't matter at all. It makes absolutely no sense. Now that they are addressing some of the combat abilities of droids, have they added more combat droid chassis? No, they talk abotu adding more modules. Great, I can make an army of R4s! That's very star-warsy!

I was hoping the update would address some of our current bugs, not adding even more new and probably broken features.
putting combat modules on exsiting droids wont cut it....unlees they are increasing hams into the thousands instead of keeping them under a hundred.
Everyone is praying, hoping, screaming, yelling, askingand begging for a new combat chassy along with increase combat abilities. WHY wont theyadd a good cambat droid?
Take out the load lifter if you need the memory to add something we can actually use please!

they would be the two major concerns formetoo.
With the mentioned change to medical droids, they would have to now have some type of certification added to Doctor and Combat Medic (not Medic)professions.
Given that they want to give us silly toys like mad bomber mouse droids my biggest problem is why does a droid engineer need scout. If I have a mount up can I have any droids out? If not when I get in the field why is a high tech crafter made to have scout to actually use their droids. If we are getting one shot blow up droids we will need an ability to call them out as needed at will and not with the city, camp, house restrictions.
Weapon upgrades woo woo so what we get to add a rifle mod to a dz70 with 40 ham? Color me not impressed by the vagueness here.
Medic droids could be good but if droid insty stims on incap that will probably mean certain db due to the three strikes plan which will earn no fans.
Power droid good ideas but the thought of making a droid that uses a very expensive architect part that is disposable and goes poof after a while will need careful balancing to make it even worth using.
The whole tone of the message was just screaming not going to see this for months and months. I would need to see far more detailed info fairly soon or I doubt it will be worth my time to hang on for this. I was very much looking forward to the post of our greatly increased power and this is well it is terribly disapointing.

I of course am always concerned about new features being added without fixing the old ones. However, the plan does address a number of the wishlist items, which does help to reduce these concerns.
My bigest concern regarding the plan is that people will be expecting fast results now that the plan has been revealed. Patience will play a big part. Hope you have lots for the DEs you represent.
I am concerned that we still have so many broken things and not even one small sentence about fixing them.
I am also concerned that if the combat modules simply make non combat style droids like say the R4 into a combat droid then that violates the whole feel of star wars universe (as if rankors in the city streets already doesn't).There are plenty of combat style droids they can draw from in the star wars universe I'm sure they have a big list from Lucas .. if not I can send them the URL.
I am concerned that only DE's will be able to use combat droids ... we are a crafting classNOT a combat class please dont make us one.
I am concerned that exploiding mouse droids is another violation of star wars mythology, the official data onmouse droids is that they were a substandard droid that failed in mass production causing their manufacturer to goout of businessIt's a wonder they were even put in the game...
My last concern is that they posted this late on a friday then made sure not to let the door hit them in the *** on the way out of the office... we probably wont see any of our real concerns addressed till tuesday.
I am concerned that this "plan" looks like something the devs threw together on a napkin at lunch today 2 hours after they said they would post it.

p.s. lest you think everything upsets me in this "plan" I did like some of the things they had to say on medical droids and using power droids to help power harvesters.
The thing I want to emphasize is Specialization!
* Surgical Droids should be the only type of droid which takes a medical module.
* Combat Droids should be the only type of droids which can handle the new 'combat modules'.
* Repair Droids should be the only type of droid which takes a repair module.
