Thread: Harvest Module Data....Time to crunch some numbers!
Howdy,
For the longest time, the guess work involved in figuring out the bonus of harvest module has annoyed me. I qlways get asked about this, and I constanly see threads on the boards here. So I went out and did some basic experiments of my own with these things. I made myself 3 harvest droids with differant ratings. I went and picked up novice scout, and then I found a static spawn of Fambaa that I could massacre. I would kill and harvest a single Fambaa at a time, starting with just my own skill. Each subsequent kill, I would use my harvest droid, starting with the lowest one first. After I got enough xp, I went and got the next block of hunting. Back to the spawn I went, and repeated the process. I only had enough skill points to make it up to Hunting 3, so it wasn't a perfect test. Below is the list of results from my outings:
MYSELF 33 Rated DROID 54 Rated DROID 103 Rated DROID
NOVICE SCOUT(+15)(Hide)69 73 78 86
(Meat)5762 6472
HUNTING I(+20)(Meat)727680 89
HUNTING II(+30) (Meat)78 81 85 95
(Hide)98 102107 118/119
HUNTING III(+35)(Meat)81 8388 96
(Hide)101 104 110 121
Each time I harvested, I was sure to kill the exact same creature from the same spawn. I did not use Vegash. I listed multiple amounts when I encountered varying results. I tried to perform each test at each skill level twice, just to make sure. I am working on my own formula ATM, but figured I would be nice and share what I got with everyone.

Good Data....but missing some info....
HUNTING II(+30)

droid : Droid Creature Harvesting Bonus
ratio : Here is where i find 3.55
verglash : power of the verglash drunk
CL : Creature Level
base_amount : The creature base amounts of Meat, Hide and Bone
density : The rangers say the creature ressources have a density exactly like mineral, chemical, etc. It's a percent, that changes in the area. Same creatures in the exact same place will give the same amount of ressources. But if they move, the density changes and amounts will change. Strange isn't it ?
Now hereismy formulathat givesthe percent of increase a droid gives compare to someone without droid.
droid / (ratio * ( 1+skill/100 )
Master Scout (+50) 3.7 11.2 16.9 18.8 19.7 20.7 21.6 22.5

But do you agree on the second formula that gives the percent ? If this one is correct, it's just fine for me. All a client wants to know is "How many percents more than me will your droid harvest ?".

Yeah, the number crunchng I did does work with harvest droids that are around 95 or less. Once I start calculating for a droid with a 100 harvest rating or higher, then my expected values always surpass my actual gains. More Master Scout/Ranger data needs to be obtained in order to work this out.
