Thread: Annoying Customers

get to coronet and traded the guy the droid and a crate of 2 4 charge batteries. then set back to watch him program his droid, ahh vengeance is sweet.
After thinking about it I wish I put a stupid chip in instead.
If any one else as any good stories please post them, I have read stories from a couple other fourms and they had some entertaining posts.
I think the irony is in when the customer went to go program the droid in order to name it. Because it was a surgical droid, it may take a while for him to figure out that it can't have a "special" name.
Good story, nice punchline.

Wow, no offense but thats a pretty crappy way to treat your customers. If you dont want to bothered by them explicitely tell them when it should be ready.

Are you a DE? If you then you will understand how many sub components some of these things have and if you dont have the parts pre 'cooked' you end up hand crafting 15+ components for 1 Droid. With an impatient person sending you tells every 2 minutes.
Even if you tell some people when it will be done they still badger you for hours before you said it would be ready.
The new craze I have is:
- Customer price checks custom droid.
- I give price and they order custom driod.
- Make droid and mail customer it's ready with WP to collect.
- Customer mails back something like "I am poor now since you took so long(2 Hours)to build it, can i have it for free or x credits(normal about 1/4 or original quote)."
Had about 4 this week already.

like Krustyfur said above it take several parts that some require crafted parts as well on most of the higher teir droids. I keep all the most commonly used parts on me in factory crates and the ones used on certine droids i make on the spot when needed.
Ihave 4 crafting tools on me as well so when someone orders a droid i have 3 tools working on parts, and the 4th ready for the parts when they are done. so a normal r2 droid takes me about 5 mins baring any crit fails. the guy was very impasient with me sending tells every 2 mins asking if his droid was done when i told him i had to run home for the parts to finish his droid.
I dont have a problem someone bothering me with a droid questions and or build requests, its those that ask when it will be done and you tell them how long it will take and they still ask you every 2 min. if its done.![]()
The other day I was traveling around and took the shuttle from my town to Coronet starport, before I finish loading in a hear a tell.
-
random guy: hey could you make me a medical droid. -
me: sure any chassis preference? -
random guy: a medical droid, whatever is best. -
me: surgical droid ok for you? -
random guy: sure.
I begin crafting, and he starts doing what looks like a caffeine induced seizure with this mouse.
2 minutes later
-
random guy: you done yet? -
me: no, but almost done. -
random guy: ok cool (continues seizure) -
me: shoot I'm out of memory modules. -
random guy: where you get those from. -
me: factory runs. I got more at home, I be right back. -
random guy: ok, ill wait outside starport -
me: ok
shuttle takes off he walks off I get a ticket back to town (this is when there was 5 min. shuttles)
load into town
-
random guy: hey you got my droid done yet -
me:
no I just got to my city heading to my house for parts. -
random guy: ok
get to house get crate and start finishing the droid
-
random guy: hey is my droid done yet -
me:
almost its cooking now -
random guy: aright I'm still at starport
grab sarcastic chip and put it in droid for the added bonus freebie I'm sure he will enjoy.
-
me: ok I'm heading back to coronet -
random guy: sweet, I will be out front of starport.
get to coronet and traded the guy the droid and a crate of 2 4 charge batteries. then set back to watch him program his droid, ahh vengeance is sweet.

Dude: I just need a droid
Dude: /yell I need a Droid
Me: What do you want it to do?
Dude: I want one of those droids like R2D2. Something big enough to put a couple midgets in it.
At this point I was just dying from laughter and left.

Hmmm... Then you definately don't know how to treat customers.
The way I work:
- Ihave several of the base components ready in crate *no handcrafting needed*, like brains, sensor packages, motivy systems, whatever
- also a numer of crates with modules: combat, l6 data, l6 medical, l4 items, effects, harvesting, merchant
- armor modules l4/l6
- chassis (r2,r3,protocol,le, surgical)
Then if they need something special I will tell them the prices, when it will be ready i will contact them.
Most of the time I can make any custom droid within an hour. Keeps customer happy and works great in number of sales.
When i notice i run out of certain components, i fill up my factories.
