Thread: Have the developers have moved on? All we wanted...
The development team has moved on, alas. MAYBE. MAYBE NOT.Squad Leader In-Concept thread went up. I mean, bless the Squad Leaders (all 5 of them) because they need help as much as we did (and do). But why didn't we get the same deal?

At least we got our combat droids! oh.. wait again... we just got crappy modules for existing droids..
So i guess what it came down to is we can make Surgical BLLs now and put a couple more modules in some things... and isnt that why we all became droid engineers?
oh wait.. NO IT ISNT!
They can put new droids on the corvette and have them invade corellia.. but give them to the DEs? Why would they evewr do that?
its funny, im not sure why but every time i post from work it turns into a rant... Hang in there Droid Engineers, we're all in this together. for better or worse..and worse..and worse...

Maybe we will. The Devs went to the SLs back around November and said, "here is what we have for you!" The SLs replied with, "We don't like that!" The Devs picked up their marbles and went home. Does any of this sound familiar?
Maybe they will give us another chance in 5-6 months.

If Publish 8 is not truly impressive, the rest of the Droid Engineers are gonna /surrenderskill and /cancelaccount like nobody's business.
Not, mind you, that we have the faintest clue what is going in to Publish 8.

I think some people forget who the customers are, and who the providers of the service are.
If the Devs came out and said, "We don't care what you say, this is our game, deal with it or leave" it would be one thing, but since every time I read something to the outside press we have Blackman telling everyone how they listen and respond so closely to their community I think they should be held to it.
Like many, I am plain sick and tired of all the crypic messages, excuses, and pettiness that surrounds the lines of communications. Pardon my "tone", but I don't know any other words to describe it. A few people like to imply that the treatment of DE's is their own making; those people are simply misinformed. Yes, some of our decisions have come back to haunt us, ONLY because we were given bad/outdated/no information with which to make the choices we were presented with.
We shouldn't have to beg and kiss behind to get the proper attention we deserve and have been promised repeatedly since beta. It's clear that DE's have little role in the game besides crafting stations and medical modules - and that is the intent.
When they accuse this forum of having a bad "tone", that's sort of like yelling at the dog you abuse and don't feed because of his hungry barks.
It is unfortunate that there is so little communication, and what littlewe get is, "What do you want?" and "Please list your dozens of bugs for the 12th time - and remember to mark the top five because those are the only ones we will even remotely consider fixing..."

I mean goddamn, all we want is to build the damn robots.
If some of us want to sell those robots to everyone else, FINE do that (CL 10-)
If some of us want to control those robots instead, FINE do that too (CL 40+)
I mean goddamn, the biggest thing people are pissed about is how this game is
turning more and more into EverQuest instead of StarWars.
Combat droids SHOULD LOOK LIKE GODDDAMN COMBAT DROIDS.
Utility droids SHOULD LOOK LIKE GODDDAMN UTILITY DROIDS.
If the droid LOOKS like it can carry a ton of crap, MAKE IT ABLE TO CARRY A TON OF CRAP.
If the droid LOOKS like a protocol/administrative droid, MAKE IT PERFORM LIKE A PROTOCOL/ADMINISTRATIVE DROID.
If the droid LOOKS like a big walking battery, MAKE IT WORK LIKE A GODDDAMN BATTERY.
If the droid LOOKS like its good at repairing things, MAKE IT GOOD AT REPAIRING THINGS.
If the droid LOOKS like its good at assisting doctors, MAKE THEM GOOD AT ASSISTING DOCTORS.
It is not friggin rocket sience people, pull your heads out of your collective butts,
and stop acting like senile old retreads that are constantly resisting change.
