Did you know that only 2% of the entire DE profession bother to post and visithere? This is based on hard numbers given to me by Holo, as well as a good afternoon of leg work by me. Of all the DEs, only 9% are Masters.

If Holo says I can I will release the actual numbers to you guys. This was a curiosity to me so I wanted to see what the numbers were. I imagine there is an error rate of 1 to 2% as well. Since there is no way to tell how many DEs actually read the board and do not post I dont have those figures.

Why do you suppose only 2% of DEs bother to post on the forums? Oh please dont flame either

I am one of the few that don't post at all. I am a lurker and like to read the boards and let the other people argue whats best for our profession. So I bet you have a lot higher precentage of DE's reading but not posting.

this doesnt surpise me at all, lets face it i have to go in game on my server to remind people to post on the server forums. Also DE burnout maybe causing alot of woe, not to mention people whom are happy even with the crappy state of affairs generally get yelled atwhen they post.....so all these factors tend to reduce heavily any desire to chip in on these forums.....just my 2 creds

I read this forum daily for updates and ideas on our profession, I rarely post (this is my first post to this forum). Frankly til I see more things being done with our profession I have little to comment on, as most if not all has been addressed by several. I made Master DE dispite how broken it was and am playing on faith that it will be fixed. We have some very good leaders here in this forum that vocalize much better then I ever can and for that you have my gratitude, and my daily attention.

My guess it there are people that have quit the game, or not playing anymore. Either they still are counted or they paid for a few months and waiting for their months to expire.

I myself do not see many DE's, so just a guess.

I want to see the raw number of weaponsmiths, architects, DEs and Armorsmiths

Just a clarification, is that 9% of Masters a) 9% of the 2% that post or b) 9% of the total DE population. I'mguessing that its9% of the entire DE population on all servers, because if its 9% of the 2% all I have to sayis,Where thefrock are allthe DEs hiding?

Anyway, I'd have to guess thatfromthe amount of DEs that come to me for questions, about 35-60% of themdon't even read the boards, which we'll average out to 47.5% for good measure. Then lets look at statcical percentages of those that read the boards and never, or rarely, post. This usally runs about 1 in 7 to 1 in 12, which averages out to about 11%. Now, lets look at the possible number of people that have traveled down the path of the DE. Out of approximately 300,000 people, I would have to think that 7 to 10% of the population has followed the way of the DE, which would equate to about 21,000 to 30,000 people. This doesn't take in to account for those that have multiple characters per account, since I can't recall how many characters you can have per account, but let us say that out of the number of game characters is 25% higher than the average of the 7 - 10%, which equals to about 32,000 characters total.So, if I've got my numbers right, out of that 32,000 only 16,800 ever read this board, and out of that, only 1,800 people ever post.I hope that Holo lets you release the numbers, because I want to find out how far off I really am.

I didn't join the boards for a few weeks because I was put off my the registration process.

Also, I think a lot of DEs have given up and moved on to better games. They are still counted because there account is till active, even though they dont play.

Well, a HUGE majority of MMOG players don't read or care about forums, shocking as that is to those of us that do - and of those that do I'd wager a large percentage of them are lurkers. =)

What's more important, is how does that percentage compare to other professions. Do 20% of all Architects in the game post on the Architect board? Across all the professions is it under 10%? Is DE the lowest of all professions or somewhere in the middle? =)

I know I never posted until I became a Master DE, as before then it was nothing but the grind, however I found the easiest ways to grind from this forum so I was still a reader. However I also think that such a low amount of people post because there is not much to say. I try not to say a whole lot as I really come here and just want to gripe sometimes, hehe. About the only time I saw much is when I am replying to somebody else who has a question and no replies just so I can lend them a hand.
