Thread: DE's, (all 5 of you) Do you recommend non-CH pets to people looking for good combat droids ?
I sell probots as tanks. I recommend non-ch pets as damage dealers.
Probot w/max armor + Beetle = teh win.
I honestly tell my customers the sad state of Droid Engineering, I give them all the stats on the droid, and so far they've bought from me. But perhaps that's because they were guildies and thus there was a huge mark-down. I won't sell people a probot though without telling them it's basically a small damage add and not much else, and that you want to keep it in the back during fighting.
I ground up to probots thinking I'd be able to make money finally. Now that I'm there, the money isn't rolling in like I thought it would. I make more money from hunting occasionally than from my profession. I'm glad I've beentraining on carbines, otherwise I'd be harvesting manually to grind.
I dont "push" my droids. People buy them or dont. I tell them the truth about how strong they are and what they do. If they still buy one and dont like it I have a full money back guarantee. No worries No hassle

Pretty much what Sin said. Right now, Probots aren't "necessary battle companions"....they are fluff droids for those rich people who are **edit** about maxing out their damage potential.
If you were to choose only one pet to buy, then absolutely a Creature Handler pet is better. For the same price, they do more damage and can be healed in battle. However, for those people who, as I said, want to max out their damage output potential, there's no reason not to have the Probot.
However, at the prices to produce them (especially the Medium armored ones), it's more of an elitist thing and not the casual fighter's first pet...

That's exactly what I tell my customers.
Two times out of three they say: "Really?! Then I want a droid please"

Respectfully,
My guildmate gave me a cowardly gurreck in payment for two droids I made him. I like having him and my probot out at the same time when doing Rebel missions simply for the chance that they might tie up two of the suddenly red mobs that attack when I shoot another Imperial. I wish I could get mission difficulties over ten though...
When I'm running to my harvesters, I usually just keep my gurreck out.
You can insert a generic "I-wish-they'd-unnerf-Probots" rant here. My Probot is an acceptable tank, but Bruticus is just so much easier to heal and repair, not to mention hits a lot harder and has 4x the HAM, that they're just not in the same league.
