Thread: DROID MODULE FOCUS? COMBAT MODULES?
thanks guys

little confussed butas these new combat modules raise the cl of a droid (cl-13 i think a saw in aTK post) can they then be called by anyone or just CH? Is there a raised max CL callable by a DE?
anyone can use droids, only thing the CL is there for is to let you get better missions.

"Real" combat droids were not ever on the table for this Publish. We got a boost to the DL level for droids (quite a big one, in fact).

Ah ok, so no real combat droids again. Maybe I should just tell our DE's (including first Master DE on Intrepid) just to give it up and cancel? I'm tired of stealthing here on this board so now it's my turn to vent away against SOE.

So, the droids will be a lot more useful. They won't be the combat droids that some players want for the super-high-end combat. That will happen after Space.

Which droids are going to be useful again?
That's a subjective issue. For me, I'll find a lot of these useful (as will many of my clients, depending on whether or not they use them wisely).
Near as I can tell the most useful is the entertainer droids. Not the survey droid (once it's working at all) as it does NOT provide the stats of resources.
That's your opinion. I can see a lot of people seeing how these droids will be very useful (the issue of stat-reporting included). We may see this added...we might not.
That dosen't make the Survey droid any less useful..........depending on the circumstance in which you use it.
Not the harvesting droid as it is unsatisfactory for the groups that have ideas for it, group A those that want to be able to harvest without novice scout--a big screw off to them, group B those that want to make it easier to harvest when they are out and about--nope not exactly as it doesn't loot, the harvest commands don't queue and they don't autoharvest, group C those that want to increase their yield--definitely does NOT perform that function either.
Obviously, you've not yet done your research...
The droid does increase harvest yield...depending on the level of the Scout and the size of the bonus in the droid.
No...we will never see the Harvest module usable by non-Scouts. That's pretty much a 'lock'.
The "Loot" option being added....you're going to loot a wild creature? Is that right? I think not.
Several of the other types are low interest compared to these three types and is unclear how helpful those will be as it is.
If you've read up on the module focus threads, it's not hard to see how these can/will be useful...in the right hands. One only needs to know how to best apply the utility that the droid provides.
But it's like anything you have to have the strong core that is desirable, well those don't work at all like what the collective players would need to be considered desirable.
I'd have to respectfully disagree then. I see a lot of value in many of these models.
If you don't...............that's fine. You won't have to worry about buying or using them.

As they stand right now these will be useful for checking on shifts on distant planets so I know if today is the day to move my harvesters. I like to be up to the minute on shifts so as to be as efficient as possible with my harvesting time.

There are a number of creatures that can be looted for various parts used in the odd crafting schematic. Voritor, Kimogilla, and Rancor scales are all fine examples.

I'll add this to the list but I'd have to doubt that "Loot" (scales, etc.) will make it in time. Maybe down the line...

Well so far this is what I've managed on TC... I'd love to see how it compares to those of youwho can make 100% combat modules and other high quality components...
Adv. DZ-70 Tracker - 2480 HAM, 1.95 speed, .33 to hit, 95-100 damage (4 combat rating)
Adv. Probot - 2496 HAM, .97 speed, .33 to hit, 111-117 damage (103 combat rating)
Adv. LE - 4680 HAM, 1.94 speed, .33 to hit, 45-55 damage (4 combat rating)
Obviously these are not the Maximums, so what are? Anyone?
As I manage to find better resources (not likely to happen soon) I'll try and construct better versions and post that results here.
Wouldn't it be "nice" of the DEVs to simply post a little list for us of what the maximums are now "set" to...... just dreaming, I know.
Yod Amac, Head DE, Syn City, Naboo, Radiant Galaxy
I haven't tested the LEs and others a ton due to utility module focus. I'd say that they will be in the DL16-19 range max., thus far.
I'm sure more reports will come on this as we near the release of Publish 8 to Live.
