Thread: So uh, How do we make money as DEs
Droid storage compartments,
Micro Sensor Suites,
Control units,
Energy distributors,
BH droids, Seekers... and droids.
The only droid(singular) Ive been able to sell on Naritus is a R4 medic ffod/chem crafting droid.
6k every month doesnt upkeep my harvesters.
I sell resources on the bazaar, and I keep a vendor at my PA hall stocked with crates of BH droids.
Every time my BH droid vendor gets cleaned out by a roving BH, I make 60k or so. This 60k keeps the harvesters churning out resources, which sell rather steadily when carved into 1k slabs. All in all, it's not a rock-star lifestyle, but I managed to make master DE and still have money in the bank.
Cheers,
Yeah, it's a tough market to break into. There's just not a lot of demand for droids, they don't wear out, and most people that really need them (like Docs) have them already. I tend to mine a lot more resources than I could ever use making droids so just sell the extra on the bazaar. Sadly, that's a bit more lucrative than actually making droids, hehe. =)
Ok I haven't made tonnes of money, as I don't put alot of effort into selling and have bought all my training, but here is my advice.
Bounty hunter droids dont sell well for me. I use to make 20K a night from selling them. Sell 24 BH droids a week if I am lucky now. BHs hate those missions and at the moment not many of them wat to get to Master BH. Kind of funny having a profession that doesn't like to do bounty hunter missions if you ask me.
Sold alot of droid storage compartments in crates to architects.
Sold many adv probots (max medical modules you can make) plus medium armour.
Sold many adv R2 with medical rating storage crafting station and item storage.
To be blunt until you can make medical modules that combine to make a medical rating of 110, you wont sell alot. That general cluster module is a must. I regret I got it so late in my DE grind. Also getting to medium armour 40% (a level 3 plus a level 4 armour module) is a must as well.
Its all in the price - if you are stupid and sell for the prices some of the guys recommend on this forum you will never sell a droid. Get real, do your homework find out what the competition is charging and see if you can give the customer a better deal.
Also answer all those irratating /tells made 10s of K this way.
Don't worry about quality - until you get to master DE it isn't worth worrying about. Not too sure if it even matters then. Stockpile your good stuff and hope our uber combat droids will one day need all the uber quality resources - they sure dont now.
Currently BH Invenstigation missions are somewhat bugged. For Investigation I you don't need droids of any kind. Investigation II requires Probes and Seekers but is horribly tedious - you need at least half an hour to accomplish a mission that will get you 100 BH XP and you need 5,000 BH XP to finish Investigation II.
A lot of Bounty Hunters just grind novice missions which don't require droids so they can get directly to Investigation III which isn't as bad I hear.
Even more Bounty Hunters don't bother with the Investigation tree at all, they're just in it for the powerful combat moves. =)
As of this point in time only the truly masochistic and obsessive (and I mean that in the nicest way) actually grind up the Investigation tree to get Master BH.
The devs have stated (I believe) that it needs to be looked into, so hopefully if the Investigation tree gets "fixed" we'll see more Bounty Hunters actually bothering to go after bounties (imagine that) and the demand for BH droids should go up. =)
