Thread: questions on the NGE
What will happen to droids.
Will everyone have their own ability to be crafters AND combatants so everyone can make their own stuff and the 'player based economy' will go out the window? Basically will we still have a 'form' of 'player based economy'? Or is this the beginning of the end for all true crafters?
What will happen to the crates and crates of modules/components that we currently have? Will we be compensated for the ones that are no longer used?
{*worded however the 'best' way it should be worded*}
I know we all already know the answers to these questions, but still...
Also is it so bad to give actual info and specs? Once this hits TC and everyone there knows how it will be, is there any way the devs will release the specs and info on what's what instead of forcing some players to test everything for them and figure it out themselves? I have always had the feeling that the devs should release the specs for droids, things like what really effects the outcome (brains, motives, sensor pack), ratings of mods and their actual effects (harvest vs player ability, det mod vs armor)... these things are a simple task of a programmer to compile the data they already have and put it out in whatever form they like. We shouldn't be left up to testing how things work when they know how they work. Just like thediscussions some have had on why some droids operating faster than others. Why some droids always win when fighting another droid? These things should be told so we all know and are on the same page instead of testing and guessing from the results.

and what about those of us that currently do *both* droids and ships?

Answers as best I understand:
1. Characters can only be one class, so if they're combat they're not crafter, and if they're crafter they're not combat. People with multiple accounts or a second slot can have both crafter/combat, but thats no different than it is now.
2. Most of them should still be used, they said the actual crafting side of things won't change much (aside from things getting shuffled around). There are some parts that may not be around (ones I mentioned in the original questions), checking on those though.

Hrmm...it'll be interesting to see how the "one class" thing plays out.
Hello,
I would like to know will I have to start over or will I still be a completed Trader if I am a CL 1. I am curently Master Droid Engineer, Master Shipwright, Master Artisan, and Merchant. How is this going to affect the Crafter's with CL 1 rating. Should we use the respec token to become a CL 80 Combat character before CU2 goes live. Just trying to stay in the safe zone been crafting since launch and don't feel like relearning or becoming lesser then what I am now.
Thank you!!

Meaning crafter to combatent, combatent to crafter or hybrid to crafter?For example, my DE is currently pure crafter, with a lot of FS skills, I am tempted to respec part of her into a combatent to get the last row and a half of FS skills so I can take her jedi as well and get an extra character slot.So if she is a levle 54 Hybrid, will I be able to turn her into a level 80 trader or combatent?
This is important to me.
I am currently (after a hard a few hard crafting sesssions) a Master Smuggler/Master Droid Engineer. I LOVE this template, as it give me the BEST of both worlds or crafting/combat. This will hit my template hard as it seems I will not be Allowed by SOE to enjoy that which both worlds offer. how about giving us 2 year vets a second char slot like jedi (again, im penalised because i decided not to go jedi) or AT LEAST Buy One account, get a second Half Price!! A lot of my favourite professions are dissapearing, im willing to wait and see if this is any good and am reserving my judgement, but come on, why cant we have a bit of both??

Wait for tomorrow, where apparently they are pushing the first iteration of this to the Test Center.
